Fillmore Veterinary Hospital is proud to serve the Colorado Springs, CO area for everything pet related. Our veterinary clinic and animal hospital is run by Cor VanderWel DVM, Alex Rahm DVM, Karen Ricketts DVM, and Jesse Webb, DVM, who are licensed, experienced Colorado Springs veterinarians. Our team is committed to educating our clients in how to keep your pets healthy year round, with good nutrition and exercise.
Dr. Cor developed a love for science & animals while growing up on a farm in southern Wisconsin. He did his pre-vet work at Dordt College and then graduated from Iowa State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Fillmore Veterinary Hospital was founded by Dr. Merle Watts in 1956, and after being here a year, Dr. Cor then bought him out at the end of 1988 and became the sole owner.
Our administrative assistants and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. We are currently booking out about 3-4 weeks for routine appointments, so please call us ahead of when your pet is due for vaccines. For more urgent illnesses, we usually have a number of same-day appointments available, but they do book up fast.

While we are not currently accepting new clients, if you are already an established client we will happily see your new family pets.
Payment is expected when services are rendered. In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service, and minimizing costs, we do not bill or offer payment plans. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, Care Credit), checks and cash. All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.

Dr. Cor has been my families go-to Vet since before I was born, we have taken all of our animals to his practice ever since. He is honest and very caring, him and Dr Alex get on the floor with the dogs and always give them treats at the end of each visit. hands down the best vet in town.

I cannot say enough about this practice. Dr. Cor husband treating our families pets since I was a little girl and I have continued to take my pets to him as an adult. He has always been absolutely amazing with the animals themselves and the owner's alike. He is very welcoming, friendly, and you can definitely tell his priority is the well-being of your pet. We had to make the extremely difficult decision to put our cat out of her pain and suffering. I was an emotional wreck. While the whole staff was very kind, Dr. Karen was amazing from the gentleness she showed our cat to the extreme empathy she showed my wife and I. It is never easy loading a pet, but if you must make that decision you will want to go with this pet hospital to make the transition as peaceful as possible.

Fillmore Vet Hosp is, IMO, the BEST place for my pet family's health. My beautiful 11 yo schnauzer had to be put down today. Although I know it was the most humane thing to do, my heart is broken. The only solice I take is in knowing Dr. Karen did all she could to help my sweet girl. She has kept my min pin alive. The care and genuine love Dr. Karen has for animals goes above and beyond anything I've encountered in the medical profession. Maybe yrs ago but rare, sadly, in today's day and age.
