Austin Kenpo Karate was established in 1980 and has been providing full time professional martial arts training now for over 35 years. Our success is a direct result of the quality of training we provide. When we opened thirty-five years ago the martial arts market consisted mostly of adult male students.

Since then martial arts has grown tremendously and has touched so many lives. It has been our ability to grow with the needs of Austin that has made us such a success for so many years. The Austin Martial arts community has seen much advancement and has survived several martial art fads over the last 25 years and together we will survive many more to come.

Due to the scarcity of authentic written records, the exact origin of the Martial Arts is obscure. Most historians agree some form of Martial Arts was practiced in China as early as 1000 B.C. In dealing with Ancient Martial Art history we must rely partially on legend, keeping in mind that legends, however exaggerated, have some basis in fact.

Great place to learn self-defense, get in shape, and make friends. I'm part of the adult training program and really enjoy it. Class is always challenging without being threatening. You will learn to push yourself, stand up for yourself, and to make your body do things you didn't know it could do. I started just shy of my 40th birthday, overweight, with hypertension, back pain, and other body-disuse related disorders. I have lost 4 inches on my waist while putting on significant muscle, especially legs, back, and shoulders. Back pain is gone, flexibility is improved, and blood pressure is getting

The Kenpo after school program is wonderful for my child! We enrolled him because I wanted an athletic outlet AND after-school care, and... I wanted respect and discipline to be modeled for him. He saw a bit of sparring and was initially afraid. I told him he needed to try it for 3 months and then decide. After 3 months, he said he wanted to stay and has remained for 3+ years. During this time, he has socially matured a lot and gets to interact with kids of varying ages. In the karate class, rank is based on belt level. He has learned that he can't progress to a higher rank until he has worked

We absolutely love Sifu! He is a great role model for children and such a great influence. I have not encountered many these days that have the kind heart, patience, care, and dedication that Sifu does. He is one of a kind and is amazing with the children and his instruction. Kenpo's goals and missions are wonderful and teach children life skills to use later on as well as character. I am not only amazed but extremely grateful and thankful, we have he opportunity to be a part of such a well designed, dedicated, family type environment Kenpo has offered. My son loves Sifu and is very happy to be

I've been training here for ten years, since I was eight, and I can say that it has had a profoundly positive effect on my life both physically and mentally. I would highly recommend going here, even if just for a ittle bit, if you or your kid has ADHD like me.
