Slayton Construction began in 1993 with its focus on three things: Trust, Quality, and a Promise. I started my construction company in 1993, first building several stick-frame houses for clients, and later began a relationship with Cardinal Homes as their area contractor for modular homes.

Since then, I have built additions, done remodeling work, and built modular and stick frame homes in Clarksville, Halifax, Scottsburg, Vernon Hill, Cluster Springs, and Turbeville, Virginia Beach, Hurt, Charlotte County, and Danville.I have built large fellowship halls for several churches in the South Boston area and in Clarksville, and completed expansions and renovations for both VIR Speedway and Berry Hill Estate.
Services
Modular homes have the advantage of being built in a controlled environment, protected from the weather, and under strict quality control standards. Country Living Magazine says Modular Built homes are 15 to 20% less expensive than conventionally built homes. Whether you choose a stick frame, modular, or hybrid home, your experience should be enjoyable and as stress free as possible.
We wanted you to know how pleased we are with the service we received from your contractor, Marshall Slayton of Slayton Construction in South Boston, Virginia. Marshall has taken the time to listen to all details. He has worked very hard to make sure that we are pleased with our new Cardinal home. He made sure that we were informed of all that was being done.
Building a modular home combines engineering know-how with factory-production techniques to design and build more efficiently and with greater quality control. Modular homes are built 85% in the factory while your site is being prepped and the foundation laid, then brought to the job-site and carefully placed on your foundation.
When pricing a new stick frame house, I make sure to carefully study the foundation and framing details, and offer suggestions which will either save the customer money, add living space, or allow for ease of future expansion. I look for things the homeowners may not be aware that they can do, and I try to anticipate problems which might arise later.
The time it takes to build a new modular home averages about 2 months. A stick frame home would take from 3 to 6 months to build. This time frame varies based on the type of foundation your home requires and specific characteristics of the house plan. We make every effort to meet the closing date we establish with you.
