The Roberts Tax Group was founded in 1998 by Managing Partner, Dr. Kris Roberts. Our boutique firm offers a unique array of tax preparation, representation, and advisory services, a variety of accounting, bookkeeping services, as well as a wide range of business consulting services which include, startups, sustainability, and services designed for the small business owner.
Instead of emailing sensitive documents directly, RTG has instituted a secure online portal for the transfer of documents and files between us and our clients. The portal is used to transfer information, it is not a cloud-based storage site. If you have been sent portal log in information - follow the link and follow the prompts to log in.
Kris Roberts, Managing Partner, has almost twenty-five years' experience in the field of accounting, taxation, and entrepreneurship. Kris earned her Doctor of Business Management degree from the University of Phoenix. Her field research focused on federal tax compliance for small businesses located in the state of Connecticut.
Brett Wald, has almost ten years of experience in the field of accounting and taxation. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the Barney School of Business at the University of Hartford in Bloomfield, CT. Brett specializes in individual income tax, computerized accounting systems, internal processes, sustainability and profitability analysis.

To be fair, they're a decent group with somewhat competitive prices, but I had to give them only one star because they don't wear masks in the office which is irresponsible and disrespectful to their customers. Regardless of if you're vaccinated or if you believe the pandemic is real or not, as a business they should be more considerate and follow all CDC guidelines and show some respect for their customers by wearing masks at all times and being proactive with sanitation. In addition, they don't always follow up with their customer's questions and they typically close at 4pm, not 7pm as the internet

This younger tax group is tech savvy and removed a negative Google review a friend had posted (-1 star). They also are hit and miss with wearing masks during this pandemic (-1 star). Then, because of changing tax laws, I was sent an e-mail after I originally filed saying it would cost $250 to amend taxes that originally cost $175. My tax return is simple compared to more complicated returns (i.e., one W-2, single), so (-1 star). Finally, price gouging during a pandemic and economic uncertainty is poor decision making and unethical (-1 star). There's other people that can do your taxes, shop around

Kris and her team, unlike other firms we have had our business and personal taxes handled by, RTG keeps up with the tax code changes and looks to what will or may change in the future to reduce your liabilities. Their newsletters keep you on track and informed of these changes. Kris is a tremendous asset to our business, if I was up the tax issues creek without a paddle, Kris s who I would want at my side and she had been.

The IRS is not always to kind to small business owners and I had some real issues with them a few years ago due to a not so knowledgeable and otherwise shady financial advisor I once had.
