Jim Sanford has spent nearly 30 years practicing business law and estate planning. He is licensed to practice law in Minnesota and Wisconsin. As a business attorney, he has advised companies of all sizes at all stages of the life cycle - from inception through succession. At the same time, Jim has worked with many individuals as an estate planning attorney, developing plans that are specific to the unique needs of his clients.
Chris Pierson has 30 years' experience as a business attorney, estate planning attorney and real estate attorney, providing legal representation and counseling to individuals and their businesses. Often this counsel is in connection with transactions.
His business clients range from start-up entities to mid-sized corporations, providing him substantial business law experience with: entity selection and formation; shareholder, member and partner relations; restructurings; sales and purchases of assets and businesses; exit strategies; and dissolution and winding up.

Jeff Thone is the firm's senior litigation attorney and also counsels clients as a business attorney and estate planning attorney. Jeff is the chair of the firm's litigation practice group and former chair of the Sanford, Pierson, Thone & Strean's estate planning and practice group. Practicing for nearly 30 Years, including as a partner in the office of Cragg & Thone, Jeff has twice been recognized as a Five Star Wealth Manager.
Courtney Strean's legal practice focuses primarily on the areas of business and corporate law, creditor remedies, and real estate law. She works diligently to provide practical and candid advice to the firm's clients-the value of which she understands from managing and owning a business. Courtney was raised in Elysian, Minnesota.
