Services
Central Valley Animal Hospital is located in the heart of the Flathead Valley in Kalispell, Montana. Beneath the shadow of Glacier National Park, we serve our clients from all over Northwest Montana and Canada along with visitors to our scenic area. Our team is comprised of compassionate, skilled, and personable veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and veterinary support staff.
Our pediatric patients are often sent home with a dewormer to clear their system of common intestinal parasites they come in with. Because our area has a high prevalence of intestinal parasites including giardia which is transmissible to people, we recommend a fecal parasite count at the end of the puppy deworming series, and annually thereafter.
Digital Radiology is an advanced technology allowing a rapid view of many parts of the body. The advancements in imaging allow us to achieve ideal magnification, contrast, and resolution without repeat exposure to radiation. While widely recognized as a tool to identify broken bones, radiology also allows us to diagnose many other conditions from GI foreign bodies to heart and lung pathology.
Our surgeons are skilled in their trade, and we offer a wide array of surgical procedures from routine spay/neuter to extensive orthopedic repairs and tumor removals in house.
Our surgical suite is complete with sterilized surgical equipment, gas anesthesia machines, anesthetic monitoring equipment (to monitor heart rate and rhythm, oxygen saturation, CO2 output, and respiration rate), circulating warming blanket, fluid pumps, and electrocautery (to minimize bleeding during surgery). Our staff is happy to provide you with a line by line estimate and explanation of our surgical costs prior to surgery.

Our trained technical staff perform our dental cleaning procedures under veterinary direction and anesthetic care. Preventative dental care can be achieved through routine cleanings with our ultrasonic scaler and teeth polishing. Dental exams and any necessary extractions are performed by our veterinarians.

A year ago i took my girl inn for just a a rabies vaccine. The whole covid mess was going on and i was not allowed inn. Big mistake trusting them A few days later she had three huge knots on her shoulders and one hip where they injected her with used or dirty needles.
She almost died on me several times. They would not treat her. I had to take her there after hours where i was charged almost $1000 for 3 trips where they ripped her open to drain out the infection multiple times. She struggled for over a month and finally stabilized. She got so grey over that month and had problems walking after

I’m really not one to write reviews… I didn’t write a bad review about the other veterinary clinic where I took my pup for her first puppy shots because I figured it’s worth spending the extra $$ to establish her somewhere in case of emergency even though I’m fully capable (as are most of us locals) to administer shots from Murdoch's ourselves!… Wellllll apparently that’s not how it actually works. After them literally telling me to to take my puking from one end blood coming out the other dog to the emergency vet that doesn’t open until 6PM at

Our Golden Retriever picked up a bacterial infection which turned into a very large abscess in just over a day. I took her the next morning where Dr. Sherrill examined and diagnosed in short time. She was in surgery that afternoon and home by evening. Dr. Sherrill is very thorough, an excellent communicator and a highly skilled veterinarian. Staff was amicable and made all go efficiently.

They post they're an emergency clinic, at at 2:45 p.m. I went in they asked if I'd had an appointment. I told them I needed them to look at my cat as it was an emergency and they told me that I had to go to another clinic that opens at 6 pm. They didn't care!! Heartless!! Called Whitefish Animal Hospital and they told me to bring the cat right away. When we went in, they called on the overhead about my cat being in respiratory distress and 4 tech came and took him to the back. He needed supplemental oxygen for two hours. We were able to take him home later that night. The bad thing is I've always

By far the best vet clinic in the valley. I have taken my dogs here for many many years. Due to moving all over the valley, I have tried multiple different vets so that it would be closer to home for us. Unfortunately though, no other vet has made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. At central valley they treat us, and our pets like family! Dr. Katie Sherill is the most caring vet I have ever met! We will forever make the drive. Thank you for taking care of my animals for so many years! ♥️

Central Valley Animal Hospital is a great place to take your furry companions. It is obvious that they all love and care for our pets. My dog was so comfortable that he laid down on the floor in the waiting room and he is a very anxious dog. Thanks for being so caring all of you at Central Valley Animal Hospital!

We have been going there for years. Max with his dog's and he just took snowflake our kitty there. There is a sense of comfort when you walk through those doors. Whether it's a check up or an emergency, your in good hands. They're always up to date and very knowledgeable about what's new and changes in the animal world. And they take time to inform you! Their love for all animals can not be surpassed. And they're pricing never makes you feel like wow, that hurt. Knowledgeable, compassionate, integrity. Peace

What a disappointment this place has become. I've been taking my animals here my entire life, but no longer. The techs are incredibly unprofessional, rude, and uninformed. They constantly misquote prices and have no idea the extent of any particular procedure. Dr. Amanda Oedekoven was rude, insensitive and downright cruel when we found out our… puppy has hip dysplasia. She was extremely judgemental and assumed the worst of us. Our puppy was purchased from a reputable breeder who performs all the necessary health tests on her dogs, and breeds for all the right reasons, we were just unlucky

Very helpful for Mr. Weenie Zukkhini. He was so miserable when we walked in, but slept the whole 2 hours home very sound. He is 180° better today without discomfort. So thankful a walk-in was seen so quickly. Delightful staff!!! This is my second trip with two different dogs and I'm impressed with the attention to the dogs compassionate care. A+++
