We were robbed by every aide but the last, who was kind, energetic and sympathetic until my husband's dying day.
Gift a good aide. It will be appreciated.
Other aides but her took: gold, art, silver. Not the sole agency for theft--apparently, the police say it's very popular to perform felony theft against the elderly . Call the police and file a report. All theft against the elderly is a felony. I was cowed and fearful aides would retaliate, but it will not stop until the police report naming names is done. ( I did against F.G. from the Bronx.) Recommended by the UFT.
Don't use this agency

Please avoid this provider. Billing is hugely inaccurate. The company, though a non-profit, sent a hugely inflated bill, multiple times; a year after last service, and the passing of the patient, April 2017, I received a bill for nearly 5 thousand, with no dates of service, etc. I paid an amount, less than a third, after doing the work of tracing all prior payments, dates, mostly to get rid of their lawyer that sued. I paid their lawyer, as well.
So paid. Right?
Nope. Three years after patient’s passing, 2020, another bill, for the same original amount, with the same inaccurate allegations

I had a very positive experience with COHME. The staff, in particular, Laura Radensky, the Director, Steve Rubbicio, the social worker, and the home health aide, Fatou Ba, were always responsive to our concerns, including: providing a compatible aide for our mother, and a nurse to monitor medications, and preparing bills to submit to our long term care insurance plan. Eventually, we decided to move mom into an assisted living facility closer to family. COHME, however, was very flexible with our aide's hours, to help make Mom with this challenging transition.

I have been working with COHME. Inc. for almost 2 years now and I can say that this has been one of the best employers I have worked for in a long time. Working with a group of caring and compassionate individuals that truly cares and believe in the work they do in helping the elderly has been the best reward for me. I am proud and fortunate to work for this organization.

We have contracted a home health aide from Cohme for one year now and we are very impressed and happy with the kind attention paid to my elderly father and his partner, both of whom suffer from progressive dementia and memory disorders.
Our aide is caring, reliable and trustworthy.
All the staff and social workers we have dealt with are highly professional and caring.
My fathers partner was so opposed to anyone helping them with their daily routines at first, now she says “ it’s like she’s part of the family” which was an unexpected and quite amazing turn around. The aides all get ongoing

COHME is very committed to providing support guidance to the Aides. As a former employee, the agency maintained a positive working environment for all disciplines. The mission of the agency was reflected in the team approach to the care provided to Clients and families.

Very sad to report that my husband, suffering from dementia, and I were treated badly, including being robbed by two aides sent by COHME. (This agency had no plans to replace or reimburse for the materials taken. I asked.)
For aide services we made direct payment for a few weeks, gaining reimbursement through his long term care insurance. Then we finally connected this insurance, Metropolitan Insurance, directly to the agency for direct payments. I received copies on paid invoices.
Twice COHME mailed us "shock bills" for thousands, and after talking to their accountant twice, or more

Okay so back in early November I went and applied they paid for my physical and drug test since my insurance don't cover pre employment. This was Nov 15th. On November 28, they called me and said I needed to call mobile health because there was a problem with my test. Spoke to mobile health. Then that following Thursday I had my orientation. So I went down there just to be told by security that my appointment was canceled! I called them ( COHME) and was told that they canceled my appointment due to my test. How they had called me earlier abd left a message. I did give them TWO phone numbers and
