When it comes to your final arrangements, shouldn't you make the decisions? The arrangements you make will reflect your exact wishes and desires. Pre-arranging your own service will help to ease the burden of your loved ones. It will also alleviate any questions, problems or differences, which can occur among family members.
The basic Military Funeral Honors (MFH) ceremony consists of the folding and presentation of the United States flag to the veterans' family and the playing of Taps. The ceremony is performed by a funeral honors detail consisting of at least two members of the Armed Forces. The Funeral Honors rendered to you or your veteran will be determined by the status of the veteran.
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) furnishes upon request, at no charge to the applicant, a Government headstone or marker for the unmarked grave of any deceased eligible veteran in any cemetery around the world, regardless of their date of death. When the grave is already marked, applicants will have the option to apply for either a traditional headstone or marker, or a new device (available spring 2009).

Superb in every way! The Pfeils are the most empathetic, sympathetic, accommodating, and professional (yet warm) individuals I have ever encountered in any business. They genuinely try to understand the client's perspective and tailor their services accordingly. Their service and integrity are impeccable.

Don & Iva Pfeil are very compassionate with the needs of the family members with the loss of a loved one! Very family oriented , honest, & very knowledgeable of things we didn't even think of. Their expertise guided us as a family through the most traumatic experience of losing a husband /father. When the time comes and (unless you have planned ahead), you need someone to have your back! It was truly like having a family member taking care of ALL the arrangements. You didn't have to worry whether you forgot to do something!!! Deepest appreciation to Don Iva and their staff! I would highly recommend

My father-in-law passed away at the VA in Sandusky and we weren’t sure where best to choose for a funeral home. After some calls, it was an easy decision to go with Pfeil. Don and Iva were caring, compassionate, and worked with us on every detail. We had the added challenge that my father-in-law was going to be buried in Zanesville. By some miracle, Don knew the funeral director in Zanesville and helped to coordinate everything. We dreaded having a service during COVID but somehow, it could not have been any better. Don and Iva took care of small details that we never would have thought of, facilitated

Don and Iva are caring and compassionate people. They really helped our family's grief more bearable during my father's recent passing. They went above and beyond expectations with their service they provided to our family during our difficult time. I can't say enough about how well they followed up on thing's and their attention to detail. They sure made things a lot easier for our family. They arranged burial services at Arlington National Cemetery for my father and mother in December in which they plan on attending. I highly recommend Pfeil Funeral Home to anyone.
