The idea of Biryani City came into conception when we decided to share our love for food with the residents of Norristown. Their goal was to introduce the food and taste they grew up with into the community and ensure the customers were satisfied with fresh ingredients and spices. The second location of Biryani City opened up in Allentown and is quickly becoming the talk of the town.
Another finger food which follows the Indo-Chinese formula with some fresh onions and bell peppers. Pretty simple, pick your protein and get it cooked with peppercorns and a secret spice mix. Chicken coated with a one of a kind masala mix and coated with sesame seeds and cooked to perfection. Goat coated with a one of a kind masala mix and coated with sesame seeds and cooked to perfection.
Coated in a Manchurian sauce made from scratch (ginger and garlic, soy sauce, chili sauces, and vinegar). Nice restaurant with tasty and spicy food.
But sometimes when you order take out, the quality seems to be different and not as good as the dine in!!

Rude, but hella good food! I got to say whenever you order over the phone or pick up they aren't the most friendly, but the food makes up for it. There are a lot of Indian restaurants around the area and this place has the best. We always do take out and the portions are generous and the food is always hot and fresh! We always get the chicken and paneer butter masala with garlic naan which is delicious! The pick up time is always the right amount of time they give you. They also are good at following the spice level you asked for.

I was at my friends house place and he ordered for a quick evening snack cut Mirchi and Chana masala.cut mirchi was fantastic, Onions that came with the cut Mirchi was seasoned perfectly and went very well with the tea.however the Chana masala had a lot of oil floating so we had to drain the oil and we used it .Chana masala was spicy and cooked really well, only part that we didn't like was the oil content . I would definitely order it again from this place and recommend for briyani or evening snack !!

Ehhhh, wasn't too impressed with the chicken or goat biryani. Both the rices were over powered by the elachi/cardamom flavor. Felt like I was biting into one every bit I was taking of the rice.

For a place called biryani city you would expect them to have different types of biryani but not too many options.

Also saw the chef walking around without a mask. So that didn't sit to well with me.

Wouldn't come back if I want biryani.

I have only gotten take-out here, as they are not yet doing indoor dining due to COVID-19, so this review is only about the food; not ambiance as I haven't set foot inside beyond pickup. Surprisingly, this place is in the corner of an unassuming strip mall in an out-of-the-way area (though it is one of three locations (Allentown PA, Norristown / Eagleville PA, Newark DE).

But the food? Wow! Some of the dishes are almost addictive. I don't say this lightly. I've tried many local Indian cuisine restaurants. I've tried many restaurants in general, and not just locally but around

I had high expectation from this place. My husband wanted to try Mutton Biryani for which I found this spot since we read good reviews. Absolutely horrible quality. The Mutton Biryani was stale, quantity was less for the $16. They put only 4 small pieces of goat in the biryani. I would never give them another chance.

Hopped into the car and drove 40 minutes with the fam to Biryani City. We ordered the Fish Manchurian, Shrimp Tikka Masala, Aloo Saag, Paneer Saag, Plain and Garlic Naan. Since there is no indoor dining due to Covid, we sat in our car and ate like kings. We brought some of our own silverware and dishes (ha!) to help with the trash waste. The Fish Manchurian appetizer is phenomenal--absolutely a must-have from here on out. It starts out sweet and tangy and ends up raging hot. Shrimp Tikka Masala was delicious--I only wish the shrimp were a little larger, a little fresher? The sauce was sooooo good

I love biryani and Yelp reviews inspired me to order from this restaurant. So ordered delivery through Grubhub Paid $18 for goat biryani. And it had few small chunks of goat meat in mountain of rice. It wasn't as tasty as biryani from other places. The chicken biryani for $14 had 3 pieces of chicken. Not tasty at all. The goat curry was tasty but the small pieces of goat meat drowned in curry. Never again.

First order (delivery) from this place ever and I am SO pleased. I ordered two dishes, one being the shrimp chettinad and the other the shrimp tikka masala. The one I ate tonight was brownish in color and so I think it was the chettinad - absolutely delicious, delivery was perfect, rice was ample, food was perfectly cooked, I couldn't be more pleased. I chose the American spicy level, which was just about right. I could have gone up a level or two, but tonight this was perfect. Excellent.

Ordered on Uber Eats 3 items. Received the food with no contact delivery on my steps within an hour, which conserving I live 30 miles away was fantastic timing. The portions were very generous and of it worth getting again.

Goat curry: spicy and extremely flavorful, little pieces of tender goat simmered to perfection. Would prefer bigger pieces but nothing to complain about

Egg biryani: 4 eggs in one order! Not dry not soggy, really the taste I was looking for, every inch of it.

Chicken tikka masala: very good and bigger chunks of meat than the goat, but that's to be expected. I prefer

Ordered two lunch platter, fish & chicken for take out. Very good and well seasoned rice, although I requested medium spicy, one of the entree is a lot spicy than the other. There is a nice lentil soup, quite flavorful which is a good break from the spicy rice.
Overall, it's a perfect take-out place if you're looking for a quick Indian food.

Second visit on December 27, 2019.

First visit was very good, second visit was great!

Everything was delicious again.

This was the second time I've tried dosa. While it's pretty good, I have to say I still prefer naan.

I'm always looking forward to returning here.

Ambiance: This place is a hole in the wall. After eating at Biryani City it will soon become your new go to Indian restaurant. Once inside it is feels nice and busy, but subtle and quiet. Not too loud. There were two separate rooms. There seemed to be a bit of a distinct color difference between the two rooms. But none the less we were there for the food!

Food!: We ordered cheese dosa, butter naan accompanied with chicken tikka masala. The cheese dosa was large but light. It was accompanied by three flavorful sauces. The butter naan was soft and with a slight chew. It went well with the tikka

Among the better Indian restaurants in the Philly area.
Went with a large group and ordered a lot.
Particularly impressed with Chicken Chettinadu and apollo fish. Kerela parotta was just the way they serve it back home.

Biriyani was nothing to write home about, though. They do not serve Dum Chicken biriyani. It's actually biriyani rice with something like chicken 65. Not bad, just not my taste. Goat biriyani had that particular meat aroma that I'm not too fond of. I would just order entrees with bread next time I am in Norristown.

Eh - I would only give this place a 3 star because they were kind enough to accommodate us and our requests and the biryani was pretty good (since the name). We ordered multiple things including an appetizer, Punjabi subzi naan and of course biryani.

For vegetarians, there is only 1 biryani options. Come to think of it, there are only 5 types of biryani including different meats too so I am not sure how is this biryani city. The appetizer we ordered was a bit dry for us. The subzi and daal fry was ok ( I have had better). Chef's naan was pretty good. I was looking forward to more options

"best biryani I've had in ages... !! better than Paradise... but service ll disappoint you for sure." -

Shifted to Norristown Recently from NJ. I am a big fan of Biryani (Especially Goat)... so was looking for Paradise but that was 20 Miles away from my place, so found Biryani city in google search... decided to give it a try.
Thank god, I come here... first spoon of biryani in the mouth and it was like wow, why Biryani city is not in NJ or all over the USA?
I tried only Biryani and it was really amazing.. right blend of spices & flavors... Goat well cooked.. with raita and
