I grew up in Pennsylvania, close enough to the Hershey's Factory to smell chocolate most days. I went to school for engineering/physics and came to Maui in 2004 to teach 6th grade science. I found teaching to be fun and rewarding. As a new challenge, I started officiating weddings in the evenings. I always enjoyed seeing the photos afterwards and became interested in the mechanics of a great picture.
You want beautiful imagery from your wedding, but you also want to remember the moments. Pictures that make you smile, make you laugh, make you wonder, and make you tear up-those are the pictures you want to keep, the ones you will cherish forever. You want to remember your day, just as it happened.

My family session style tends to be a bit more casual and fun with a photo-journalistic style of posing suggestions with plenty of candid shots.

We had the most amazing wedding with Mike both officiating the ceremony and being our photographer!! It was just the two of us and Mike made the experience stress free and fun! We greatly appreciate him driving down to Wai’anapanapa State Park in Hana for our ceremony and finding the best locations both for the ceremony and the photos after. We highly recommend Mike for your special occasions!!!

This past June my husband and I had our dream wedding on Maui. Mike took the best pictures that captured all I could of dreamed of an more for our very special day. The session lasted less than an hour but the candid and posed photos are perfect and reflect exactly how happy, excited and amazing we both felt that day. Mike was such a pleasure to work with. My husband and I are not the most photogenic and Mike made the entire experience so much fun. We scheduled a sunset wedding and received a surprise storm. Knowing that I was a little stressed as we were unable to continue with photos at our chosen location...and with the sun quickly setting, Mike was able to move our location and create photos that still bring me tears of happiness when I look at them. I would recommend Mike for any event that you need a photographer. He truly was one of the most professional and outstanding people I have had the pleasure

Mike Yeany is a very talented photographer and I would highly recommend his services. My fiancé and I will always cherish our engagement session because we honestly had a lot of fun throughout the process! The best part about working with Mike is that he is so personable, honest and passionate about what he's creating. I am usually a bit awkward when I get my photo taken but he made us laugh and made us both feel comfortable in front of the lens. He also enabled us to have scenic shots with various backdrops, lighting and ambiance for our session. He returned our photos in a very timely fashion

I came out to Maui for what was supposed to be my wedding that Mike was scheduled to shoot. The wedding didn't happen, but the most amazing photo shoot with my two kids did. Mike was flexible, compassionate, professional, skilled, but most of all, FUN! He engaged my two kiddos who had already had a long vacation at that point, and he caught some of the most amazing shots I've ever seen. He was open to ideas, suggestions, and gave sound, seasoned advice on lighting, timing, and posing. Mike was helpful and provided great ideas when I decided to propose to my fiance. He set up everything for us and executed the photos and the set perfectly. We both enjoyed his pictures very much and are really grateful to have him capture the special moment for us. My husband Joe and I used Mike Yeany Photography for our wedding in Maui and are extremely happy we did! Mike is a wonderful photographer and minister! He makes excellent photos with unique themes and settings. He is super creative so many of his photos are of things/situations you would never think to capture.
