Most of us plan ahead in life. We plan for our wedding, our children's education, family vacations, and other significant expected life events. We also plan for the unexpected events of life by purchasing home, auto and medical insurance. Understanding the benefits of planning ahead has prompted many to take the step to plan their own arrangements.

Griffen funeral home is a bad neighbor. They cut down all the trees to build their flower shop. When my mom asked them to replant a few trees like they did for her neighbor, they told her trees wouldn't grow there! They let a tree-weed grow up and over her fence. My sister has been in multiple times asking them to address. They refuse. I wouldn't recommend them or give them any biz. Be a good neighbor first...

We held a funeral recently for my father who had passed away at a nursing home. Hospice called the funeral home to make arrangements to transfer my father to the funeral home. Although it was late a night they made the arrangements to do so. Then, mom and I met with Larry the next day to begin the planning process. He asked us questions to understand our needs and walked us through several different options, including options for flowers, cards, guest book, military honors, selecting a minister, etc. He also explained they would order the death certificates for us and notify social security. Dan and Gale were so helpful to me and my family. They went above and beyond to help expedite the services as well as staying late to accommodate a Buddhist ceremony. Their pricing was very fair and Dan was wonderful about explaining all of the fees and helping us pick the appropriate services. In such an emotional time, Dan and his team made this so easy for us and took care of our every need. Truly a wonderful funeral home and fantastic staff. My family is at peace and we cannot thank them enough.

We unfortunately needed the services of a funeral home following the death of my grandfather in October 2015. We choose Griffin (Westland location), largely due to its convenient location. In retrospect, I wish we had done more due diligence. Larry, the funeral director who we met with, lacked compassion, empathy and patience as we discussed options and packages. Having paid several thousands of dollars, and given circumstances, one would expect a greater level of respect going through this difficult time, but it felt more like a business transaction again and again. There were also several key

What exactly can you say about a funeral home? You can't say "looking forward to seeing them again real soon" can you? However, I felt obligated to take a moment and say how wonderful this location was. I hadn't been to a Griffin location before, but of course knew of them for years. This Westland location was incredible. Their staff was friendly, understanding, and very compassionate. This location's general manager was also very knowledgeable, helpful, and a pleasure to work with. The room we were in was very clean and well maintained, plus by having a chapel with organ

Thought this was a really nice funeral home. Was here for my grandfather's funeral, and everything ran very smoothly. We had food in the basement and they seemed to be very accommodating for everyone. The basement could use an update in furniture and could be cleaned, but the main floor was very nice.
