Amanda Leigh was the best! I instantly felt comfortable in her chair. I came prepared to get into the nitty gritty of what I wanted to do with my hair but she understood instantly. Half way through I was saying,”you know what, you take it, I trust you”. It’s been a very long time since I’ve felt that comfortable with a hair stylist. And I have found mine. I've gotten haircuts from Amanda at Chachi Hair several times and I always come out of the salon with a pep in my step because she consistently nails exactly the style and cut I'm looking for. I took the big leap into vivid colors last Fall and she transformed me & my hair into that of an emerald green forest goddess! Amanda is my hairdresser and I was so pleased with the result! There was cutting and heavy highlights involved. She is really fast and professional at the same time being accommodating and making me laugh! I can't wait to go back in six weeks to finish the highlighting as we're doing it in two sessions because of time. I definitely recommend Amanda!!!👍🏼😀

I freaking loved this place. Amanda was awesome. I'm a person that goes a couple years between haircuts and am usually never happy with a fresh cut until it's had time to grow out a bit. Not this time. I love it. Also did some highlights and subtle color work and love it. The vibe in there is relaxed and fun but still has a lot of class. I already booked another appointment for December.

Chachi is a PRO at hair extensions!! Heck, he is the BEST hair stylist in Portland hands down! He is so good at what he does. Chachi is simply the best I have ever found! I've been going to him for about 10 years and maybe even longer. He's very honest and won't tell you to buy anything unless he truly believes that it is a product that will really help you. There have been a few times that I couldn't get into see him, and saw another stylist who was also very good! He trains all the stylists there himself. Love it there! Thank you Chachi hair!

Came in to see Isabel today to lighten my dark hair. I already had color on my hair, and that can complicate the process. Not the case for Isabel! I am trying to grow my hair out, so keeping it healthy is a must. She absolutely kept that in mind as she painted in baylage and toned it to perfection! She has such a great eye. The highlights were perfectly placed. She gave my chin length bob a trim and subtle shaping allowing me to keep my length. Anyone who has tried to grow out a pixie can absolutely speak to the frustration of a stylist cutting off WAY too much. Definitely not the case here. I

I went here because it had great reviews and Redken gave it its highest certification, so I thought they would do the best job at changing my hair from blue to red. After spending nearly $300 my hair was barely red and most of the color washed out after two washes. I decided to go back and give them another chance to fix it, and again it washed out after two washes and another $100. I then took my business elsewhere and my hair now maintains its color and doesn't feel like straw anymore and it only cost $75. I was referred to Chachi's by a friend. I couldn't be happier with my results! Never in my life have I had a hair dresser who met all my needs and made me feel beautiful walking out the door. I believe her name was Allison. The other stylists played some good tunes and were very friendly. I've gotten a million compliments on my new cut. Going from mid back length to above shoulder was a huge transformation for me. It couldn't have gone smoother! Thanks Chachi's, I will be back.

I visited this salon to get ombré hair and a haircut. I called for an estimate beforehand, and they said it started at $114. The stylist's name was Dakota. The haircut was a lot shorter than I wanted, and she talked me into basically getting highlights instead of ombré like I asked for. She said that the ombré look with two gradient colors was popular two years ago but now what's popular is a more gradual look. I assumed that meant like 4 gradient colors going vertically. Instead, it was just regular foils, which I consider a very dated look.

This place is truly awful. The people working here are bitter and project their insecurities about their age and status everywhere. They stole money from me by charging for services they did not provide me. They are petty and lowkey racist.
If you're looking for a good high end hair salon in Portland I would go to Ginger salon, they are nice and patient and more talented in my opinion.

I have been seeing Chachi for 13 years. I have thin not great drab ugly hair basically. Chachi makes my hair beautiful. It's amazing. He mixes the perfect colors to lift here and lift there, cuts it so it looks like I have a full head of hair. 10 years ago I started having Chachi put mini extensions in for volume. NO ONE KNOWS I HAVE THEM! Not even other stylists! It looks that natural and good! No one in Portland/west coast is as good as Chachi. Hands down the BEST!

I have lived in Portland three years now and one of the hardest things about relocating can be finding the right people to start new business/client relationships with. I had my last hair stylist for over 10 years, and starting over in this town has not been easy. Until Chachi. He is the absolute best. I have thick long curly hair and have watched many a stylist try to blow it out, with the result being me running home to give it once over with my straightener, after paying upwards of 200 dollars with tip. Chachi was the first person to cut my hair when it finally grew in after chemo. I had never had short hair before (let alone a pixie style cut). I'm not sure I would be as happy as I've been with short hair had I not found Chachi. My hair always looks trendy and stylish. He's introduced myself to some great styles. The longer it gets the more fun it is to try new haircuts.

I've been to Chachi 3 times and 2 of these visits were for big changes in my hairstyle. The first was for a cut/conditioning treatment I bought on Groupon. I was set up with an appointment with Daniel to do a re-do on a cut I'd had by a different stylist at the salon. While it was a little bit of a hassle to come back in for a re-cut, it was 100% worth it because it meant I got to meet my new permanent stylist for as long as I live in Portland.

I used a Groupon on 4/2/2013. I called and was in on a same day appointment. I wanted a few inches off my hair and I had some Groupon bucks to waste. My stylist was Emily and everything about my time with her was really lovely. I enjoyed talking to her and I am very pleased with my new haircut!
