A hip downtown hair studio that provides trendy and classic cuts, styles for fashionable people and those interested in turning heads with a new look. What began as a creative spark more than two decades ago with Pivot Point education is now a burning passion for Wendy, Founder and Creative Director of Tribe Hair Studio.
On the day of your appointment, please be on time to ensure you receive the full service. In the event that you have to reschedule or change your appointment, we require 24 hours notice. If we don't receive notification, you'll be charged for 50% of the cost of the scheduled appointment. If you wish to have an adjustment on your service, you have one week to call for an appointment to do so.
U Design School offers advanced training in cutting, styling, and how one depends on the other. We teach stylists to work closely with colorists to collaborate on texture and effect. We share our decades of photo shoots, runways, films and television work to inform our design classes and introduce new ways of seeing and creating.

I moved to Portland and needed someone who was really experienced in working with blonde hair and great at haircuts, and I met Ashley and she’s just the best! Always so accommodating with my busy schedule, so amazing at color and cutting (so detail-oriented and has been doing color forever), and I just always enjoy chatting with her since she’s so easy to connect with. I always get so many compliments on my hair and always love bragging about Ashley. This place is the best!

Ashley was great! I’ve had the same hairdresser for the past ten years and was hesitant to find someone else after moving to Portland. I’m glad I got paired with Ashley because she exceeded my expectations and made me feel comfortable. Her consultation with me was detailed and thorough, which I really appreciated. She even took the time to teach me how to curl my hair using a straightener just to make sure I could recreate the look she was doing on me. I highly recommend her!

In support of the team at Tribe, and especially Wendy the owner - she is incredibly talented. My hair isn't easy to work with, yet every time I visit Wendy at Tribe I leave with healthy, happy hair and a better understanding of how to maintain in between visits. Her approach to styling as well as *serious* attention to detail are amazing. I recommend Wendy to all of my friends.

I buzzed my hair last summer and Desiree has helped me every step of the way. From the awkward grow out to these amazing extensions, she has helped me feel more like myself again. The atmosphere and cleanliness of the salon is top notch as well! Can't recommend it enough.

Mehdi is marvelous! Honestly, I have been coloring my hair for nearly 25 years and I have never found anyone quite as talented. He is both consistent and reliable - something you rarely find in a true artist. Given the difficult times we are facing, the salon still manages to be a maintain a vibrant atmosphere. There is so much natural light and calm tones and the general vibe is so upbeat.
