We are Alex and Katie Sams, Knoxville photographers and Winston Salem Photographers based in the Southeast. Growing up near Greensboro, North Carolina and now living in Knoxville, Tennessee, we call both places home sweet home. As such, we call ourselves Tennessee Wedding Photographers and North Carolina Wedding Photographers. Alex is available for day-of wedding shooting, and has completed photography education at Mars Hill University in North Carolina. Alex enjoys hiking and exploring new horizons. His most adventurous experience was a year in Afghanistan, serving our country as a combat engineer. We are so thankful he is on this side of the world and safe!

We had a fantastic experience with Red Boat Photography back in November of 2020. We arranged a surprise photo shoot to capture the proposal in photos without my fiance noticing. Katie was super helpful and responsive the whole time before, during, and after. I was lagging behind on getting all of the gallery photos downloaded so, she even extended my gallery expiration date to give me some extra time! I highly recommend Red Boat Photography :)

Dream photographer – When you look at the photos you quickly realize each one is literally an individual work of art. Extreme attention to detail enabled Katie and Alex to flawlessly capture my wedding day. Somehow Red Boat Photography was able to get into my mind if I were to list every special moment I dreamed to capture of all the people I love most. Red Boat Photography was so helpful in making my day so perfect! Katie helped me in the beginning stages by outlining a schedule of pictures which helped me plan and keep the day on track! She is so professional and sweet to work with! She knew how to get people in line but kept it fun! Last but not least, she is SOO TALENTED!! The pictures turned out beautifully! Working with Katie was easily one of the best decisions I made while planning my wedding. Not only are Katie and her husband fantastic photographers, but Katie is also a wonderful help in general and great at giving advice for wedding planning. I met with Katie only twice in person before my wedding (we kept missing each other when Katie was in Greensboro), but we kept in contact through email. Beyond incredible! I absolutely adore Katie and her work is phenomenal! My engagement pictures and wedding pictures mean so much to me and the fact that I can relive those moments by looking through my pictures is priceless!
