Kent Leintz is a lifelong resident of the Leavenworth area. A graduate of Kansas City, Kansas Community College, he holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Mortuary Science. As the active owner of R. L. Leintz Funeral Home, he is a licensed embalmer and funeral director. Kent's desire to build a modern, stand-alone funeral facility to provide an unparalleled level of professional service continues to be his passion.
When it comes time to care for a deceased loved one, you may feel overwhelmed and confused about the next steps and options. Our funeral home staff members are here and ready to help. Whether you'd like a funeral or a more creative celebration of life, we can assist you to select the funeral service options that hold the most meaning for you and your family.
Obituaries act as quiet reminders of the finite nature of our lives. Yet, for those who have recently experienced the death of a family member or friend, an obituary means so much more. It is a bittersweet reminder of all we've lost, but it can also help us to remember all we enjoyed while they were alive.
R.L. Leintz Funeral Home is located just north of Eisenhower Rd., just north of Mt. Calvary Cemetery, west of Mount Muncie Cemetery, and west of Leavenworth National Cemetery. We provide ample parking to ensure our facility is easily accessible. If you would like to visit our facility, please contact us to schedule a private tour.
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you selected.

I can not say enough good things about Leintz Funeral Home. Everything was perfect. Every request honored. Such a difficult time with the passing of my husband, but the staff at Leintz Funeral Home made it as easy as it could have been. Thank you so much!

I had discussed with Amy about a prepaid cremation and went and talked about it. Called back on Friday the 22nd to get together and finalize the cremation. Amy wasn’t available but was told she would call me back. Waited till Wednesday the 27th and was told I would get a call back. Finally got a call the 28th at which time I let her know I had taken my business elsewhere. Pretty bad service. I didn’t want to give them a star at all. Thanks to Davis Funeral Home for your fast and courteous service

From the first contact to the post service details of a rather complicated military honors service, they were always courteous, professional and able to make about anything happen on request. I’d give them six stars if I could.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
The passing of a loved one is one of the most painful things for a family to go through. Leintz Funeral Home handled every step of this process in a cold and calloused manner -- from the moment my grandfather was picked up (he was tossed onto the gurney like a trash bag into the back of a truck; Ray), to us calling for finger prints (first call resulted in being hung up on my the weekend operator).
The overall experience has been appalling. Please look elsewhere when finding a place to handle your deceased loved ones.

So unprofessional. They made what was already a stressful time even worse. The girl handling most of the details had no bedside manner, compassion, or tact. She was asking me questions during the service that should have been discussed days before. Making decisions without being able to consult family or be in a state of mind to make them rationally is just unbelievably cruel. Dealing with grieving families you’d think that empathy and kindness would be a professional priority, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here.

This is a top notch funeral home with a caring and supportive staff that helped guide us thru this very hard time. I couldn't say enough about the beautiful service they helped provide for my mom .

The staff ate lunch during my nephews funeral. No chairs were provided to the overflow attendees...even when asked. The staff was rude and indifferent...something I have never seen in this institution.
