I have been coming here for over 5 years and have never experienced an issue with Dr Lowenstein or his staff. I have the upmost respect for the doctor and his staff. I have been treated with upmost respect. The doctor takes the time to always listen to my concerns, and provides guidance. I wouldn't go anywhere else!!

To start off find a different provider. The wait to see the doctor is crazy. He's usually running 30 plus minutes behind. The doctor does not spend much time with you what so ever. He don't listen to the problems going on and if he does all he can refer to is give him to cut or a placement home. Refuses to see video of the clients actions. The longest ive been in his office with my son was maybe 8 minutes tops. He had over dosed my son on medication and I had to admit him to the hospital for 14 days to get his medication back on track. Avoid if possible.

Walked into the office with my daughter who has Asperger's and serious social anxiety. The office is tiny, cramped and chaotic. It freaked her out so much she had to wait in the car until her appointment. The staff is rude and obviously don't want to be there or deal with you. "Dr" Lowenstein is a cranky rude old man and is nothing more than judgemental without being the least bit helpful. One visit, that's all they got from us. Will never return.

We had been on a wrap around waiting list for months. Finally this agency picked up our case. They had me make multiple unnecessary phone calls to the diagnosing psychiatrist and rearrange our schedule to be able to meet with them to get all of the onboarding completed. Five days after taking my child off of the waiting list, and the unnecessary phone calls and schedule rearranging, they called to say that they had to drop him because they do not deal with our primary insurance. My husband works at US STEEL and I've never had a problem with anyone anywhere accepting Aetna. They left us in a lurch

5 years ago I took my adopted daughter ( Full Spectrum Fetal Alcohol) with an IQ in the 50's to Lowenstein. He stated she did not need meds and said she could not be MR. The school she went to (parochial special needs school) said I just did not want her to be on meds.....so I was lying.
What MH System ?
I have been told by persons who worked at Western Psych that we are still on the frontier with MH (compared to let's say Cancer treatments).

My kids have been going through community psychiatric center for going on 4 yrs. Well it's time for my kids to be on meds. Dr. Lowenstein spends less than 2 minutes interacting with them, gives a mebd. Don't work so go back... Because my daughter has bad side affects and the Abilify made her depressed. I said we needed to try something else. He threw his hands in the air and said "there's nothing I can do then". This was the 3rd appointment with him that he threw his hands in the air and said he cant help. So i said i would find a doctor who cares and can help my children. BECAUSE I WALKED OUT

Would give negative rating if possible. Walked into the office and made eye contact with one of two people behind the reception glass, who then promptly left my view. No one returned until 5 minutes later when the office phone rang because I called from my cell phone. While I had been waiting I had to resist the urge to leave right then due to the filthy conditions in the waiting room; stains on the carpet, chairs, and walls from years it seemed. No soap in the restroom, due to theft by clients the office staff excused.
Dr Lowenstein insisted my son needs behavior training, not behavior therapy
