I’m a trans man and this was my PCP for about 2 years. Great doctors and nurses for the most part, maybe one doctor I didn’t like. The nurse Matt was the best, Always organized, even the people at the front desk gave helpful advice.

If you are non-binary/genderqueer of any sort, be careful about the mental health services here. When I was questioning my identity, I received invalidation and accusations. The people involved seem to have good intentions with other patients, but they do not work well with people outside the norm.

A very unorganized business with lack of communication between departments. Great place for the homeless and people with severe mental problems.

I went there to get info about gender transition HRT, and have a complicated past medical history. The medical assistant who took my blood work had no idea what they were doing and was very rude, dug around in my arm with the needle repeatedly, blew out my vein, and struck a nerve in my arm. Later that day when my hand started going numb after a large bruise formed where they stuck the needle up near the crook of my elbow and I saw a pulsating lump in my vein in my wrist, I had to make an urgent call to my regular pcp wanted me to get checked for a blood clot in my arm because my other medical

Usually have a fine experience but each time I have dealt with Dr. McGowen I am given unnecessary attitude and unprofessional behavior. I can understand that there is a process to everything but if your patient has been misinformed, you should likely not treat them so harshly. If I treated someone even a quarter of the way he treated me at my job, I would have been fired long ago. I did exactly what was asked of me by clinic staff, there was no reason for this behavior/treatment. Waste of my vacation hours, please inform patients of the full requirements for their visits before they get yelled

I’ve been outside for an hour and 45 minutes waiting on a sick appointment in 90 degree weather lol. I understand they may want to do a covid test but at least respond in an appropriate amount of time because I honestly feel so sick from sitting here I may have to leave without receiving any medical care

My experience at Central Wellness started out great. I left my previous office due to substandard care and slipping through the cracks due to COVID. I started out with an RN who was extremely helpful. I assume she began feeling overwhelmed with how much help I needed, because they randomly assigned me to a doctor. Me and the RN were doing our best to discuss how all the medicines actually work, and how safe they were. The "doctor" they assigned me basically refused to give me any actual medicine and would slowly changed the topic any time I tried talking about medicine. I got blood pressure medicine

Extremely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable staff, clean waiting rooms and offices. They make you feel at home and very welcomed, not your typical uncomfortable doctors office whatsoever. I highly recommend to anyone in need of their services, they’re the best!

The staff here is some of the most wonderful, helpful, kind, and caring humans I have ever met in my entire life. I am truly grateful for them and the services offered here. They go above and beyond in what they do caring for their patients. If you're in search for a very clean and welcoming place, look no further. I am positive you will never want to go anywhere else but here!!

Very poor experience. TL;DR: Experienced misgendering, dangerous medical malpractice, and ableism.
Came in as a vulnerable newly-out trans person. Walked through process of getting hormones by staff, was encouraged to change my PCP to this clinic. After going to this clinic every week for over a year, ended up switching to Children's in Oakland because of how terrible of an experience I had. I was constantly misgendered by staff, and the nurses regularly did my hormone injections wrong, resulting in physical pain and heightened anxiety. I constantly had my chronic health concerns mismanaged
