Services
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) with extensive training and experience in a number of areas. I am also certified as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitizaton and Reprocessing) therapist. I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from California State University, Northridge and my Master's degree in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage & Family Therapy from Phillip's Graduate Institute in Encino.
I have advanced training in a number of areas in order to best meet your individual needs. The theory I work from with couples is Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, author of "Hold Me Tight: Seven Conversations for a Lifetime of Love" and "Love Sense". According to research, EFT has been shown to be one of the most successful approaches for building more connected and loving relationships.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) helps address the core questions we often ask ourselves about our most important relationship: Do I matter deeply to my partner? Will he/she be there for me when I need them most? Do I feel safe and secure enough in this relationship to be my full and authentic self?
Are you struggling with thoughts and memories of difficult or traumatic events? Having disturbing dreams or nightmares? Is there an area of your life that has been challenging that you would you like to better understand and change the way you think and respond to? Sometimes, difficult events or situations undermine our sense of who we are.
