Mountainside Veterinary Hospital (MVH) opposes feline declawing as an elective procedure and supports non-surgical alternatives. This statement does not apply to claw removal when medically necessary to treat conditions such as tumors, chronic infections, etc. When deemed medically necessary, the procedure must follow current best practices for amputation, including use of the surgical laser, multimodal pain control before, during, and for an appropriate length of time after the surgery.

MVH veterinarians strongly believe in fully educating their clients on all aspects of declawing, including the lack of medical necessity, possible side effects, ethical issues and most importantly the positive alternatives. These alternatives are crucial in providing feline owners with the options they need to care for their cats with claws.

Since 1976, our practice has met the healthcare needs of the pets in our communities by balancing top-notch, forward-thinking medicine with affordability. We couldn't be prouder of our reputation as a landmark veterinary facility, and we couldn't do it without our dedicated, solution-focused team that treats all patients and clients with compassion and respect.
We're pleased to offer our pet families a full spectrum of quality healthcare services under one roof. Please take a moment to browse our list of services and treatment options, and let us know if you have any questions. Wellness and preventive care: Regular checkups are the best way to prevent illness and to catch underlying conditions early on.
You want your pet to be healthy and active, and so do we! The best place to start is with regular wellness visits. Your pet's healthcare needs will change over the course of their life, and regular checkups will enable your Mountainside doctor to make recommendations specific to your pet's age, lifestyle, and risk factors.
Whether we're performing a routine blood test, pinpointing the cause of an illness, or examining an injury, diagnostic testing is important throughout your pet's life. At Mountainside Veterinary Hospital, we have a broad range of in-house diagnostic tools and capabilities. We have a complete in-house lab where we can process bloodwork and perform a wide range of tests to diagnose urgent problems.
Just like people, our pets want clean, healthy mouths. We'll take a peek inside your pet's mouth during every checkup, but the most effective way to ward off gum disease and other problems is with a yearly dental exam and cleaning performed under general anesthesia. We get this question a lot! The use of general anesthesia allows us to thoroughly examine your pet's mouth, including the gum line, and to extract any broken or bad teeth.

I have been taking my pets to Dr. Eidel at Mountainside for approximately eighteen years and have found her and the staff to be caring, knowledgeable and when needed, compassionate. It is with much appreciation and gratitude that I highly recommend Mountainside Veterinary Hospital.

Our experience at this hospital for our beloved MS Pickles and Myles has been great. They clearly love our pets and care for them as it they were their own. So grateful for the staff here answering my questions, their patience with me and responsiveness when I’m worried about my pets. Thank you to all of you!

We've been bring our dogs here for several years, even after moving out of the area. Unfortunately, today was our last visit.
The vets here are amazing - they've always been professional and extremely accommodating with our difficult schedules and unexpected emergencies. I can't say a single bad thing about them, and am honestly sad to be switching.
The staff here can be hit or miss - some of them are great, but some of them are unprofessional. We've asked them to change the primary phone number on our account multiple times prior to today. I showed up this morning for an appointment, and they

I would not take Andre and Fergie anywhere else! Melissa is the Bulldog whisperer and really cares about my furry kids. Dr. Starlings is my primary Vet and she understands my dramatic Husky Malamute.

We moved to Kent, WA recently and we were wary of having to try multiple vets before finding a Vet Home. With Mountainside we were lucky on the first try!!

The Vets here are some of the kindest human beings I’ve ever met. And they all treat your pets as if they were their own. Thank you everyone at Mountainside!❤️❤️❤️

Called for an emergency appointment for my pet at 8:30 am and was seen by noon on the same day. Vet and tech both were very gentle with my dog who had injured her neck. Have used Mountainside for over 30 years starting when Dr. Ron was one of the best vets around.

The staff of Mountainside Veterinary are wonderful. Due to COVID, you can’t take your pet inside. Once you arrive, call in to let the receptionist know you are outside and shortly one of the attendants comes to the car to get your pet. I like the fact that Dr. Klein called me on my phone to tell what care she had given to my cat. My cat is a four year old rescue cat and Mountainside has been my Vet of choice sine I got her. I am very pleased with Mountainside and highly recommend them.
