Services
Structural Design Associates is located in scenic Chester County, Pennsylvania. We are fully networked, with large format plotters, scanners, and color printers. Engineers are equipped to work in our office or on the job site, as needed. All of our engineers have Professional Engineering (P.E.) certifications, including B.S. or M.S. degrees in engineering, and have collectively worked in this industry for over 60 years.
Society Hill Towers is a three tower complex located in downtown Philadelphia (Society Hill) originally designed by I. M. Pei. Each 29 story tower houses condominium units; in the middle of the Towers is a +20,000 gallon concrete fountain. Below the fountain is a below grade parking garage. The complex also includes a shopping center.
SDA designed a new one-story structure for this historic church (circa 1900) that provided a secondary entrance. The floor structure was upgraded to support a relocated tile and stone sanctuary. SDA also prepared schematic drawings for a new parish addition. This 1960s, two story concrete frame church required architectural upgrades to enhance the existing primary entrance, add a new stairway egress, and replace interior ceiling finishes.
A historic and centrally located fountain at the Camden Campus of Rutgers University underwent renovation to address deterioration and structural failings. The Facility Management at Rutgers requested that SDA perform a condition survey to ascertain the sufficiency of these renovations and to identify corrective measures to maintain a watertight fountain system.
