My dad moved down here from Ohio and we had to get his dog's shots up to date. They did the vaccinations, clipped her nails, and did an exam all for $96. This was way way cheaper than other places I had called. They even gave a free one month flea and tick treatment. The staff was super friendly and were able to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this place.

My sister and I took three cats in for routine procedures: two males and a female, for two to be neutered and one to be spayed. One of the two males was fine; the female stopped breathing as soon as they administered anesthesia and had to be resuscitated without surgery; the other male completely perished after the surgery, and was deceased by the time they checked on him. None of them had any preexisting conditions, and were quite young. The youngest male, who survived, is six months old. The female is about eight or nine months old. The oldest male, who passed away, was two and a half years old

We've taken 3 dogs to this veterinarian clinic. Our 13 year old has been going there since he was 10 weeks. Today, my 4 year old needed to be seen in an emergency. He'd hurt his leg, limping and whining. My husband called to bring him in and they said "sorry you can bring him in tomorrow and drop him off". No, not acceptable. Every doctor's office has emergency times to work in patients but a veterinarian can't?! This isn't the first time this has happened. I called to get my 13 year old in because he had been coughing. 13 is a senior and everything worries you

They helped us back in March with our senior dog our poor Doc had to be put down when all of the vets in and around Portsmouth wouldn't give us the time of day. We eventually got a pup Bo and decided to take him there. Greatest care ❤ he broke his leg and fit us in. So happy with Ashland Animal Clinic!

After moving to this area and adopting a new pet, we found ourselves seeking local vet care for what seemed like strange behavior to us. After 4 visits to this vet and what we believed was extensive blood work the answer was always the same. "He has an ear infection and is stubborn and just wants his way." What was really happening was kidney failure and the ear infection meds caused the failure to progress rapidly. (Always ask what possible side effects are!) How could a trained medical professional miss this and in fact, make the problem worse. On the final visit his recommendation

This vet is absolutely amazing! He listens and cares and is genuinely excited to see pets regain health! Dr. Pinkston and his staff really care about bout the pets and pet parents and understand the relationship between them. He takes the time to explain each thing he is doing and explore the best treatments for his patients! Words cannot express how thankful I am that he has taken the best possible care of my ferret and I would recommend him to anyone.
