Getz Funeral Home

My daughter passed on September 6. Today, October 5, I have yet to receive her ashes. Every time I call I'm told they'll call me. They never have. My heart is breaking. Why would a business treat anyone like this? I paid. Where is she?

Getz is a wonder place to have services. Had my gramps here then my wife's gramps. Good folks.

I only write reviews when the service and/or product is exceptional good, or the product and/or service is exceptional bad. My experience with Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, New Mexico was exceptionally bad. I'm going to stick to the facts, and try to avoid personal opinions, or conjecture. My father died on July 23rd @ approximately 3:00am. The week before he passed I contacted Getz Funeral Home to make arrangements. My point of contact was Chad Getz. My father had terminal cancer and we were told he was very close to passing. I had no idea what we had to do after someone passed away and we were so overwhelmed. I called Getz and a very nice gentleman listened to all my concerns, answered every question and gave us an estimate. He said just call us and we will take care of everything which they absolutely did. Very helpful, compassionate people. My mother passed away on Thanksgiving 2019, I was in the hospital due to being ill, all I had to do was call them & they sent someone out immediately to recover my mom's body. They were very patient, helpful, & understanding. Kept in touch in regards to when she would be cremated, when we could go for her ashes, & her death certificates.

When my father passed, they seemed on top of it. Calls came when promised and they came to pick up my Dad from the place of his passing quickly. However, when it came to follow up with cremation and getting a death certificate signed by his doctor (which is required to obtain a permit for cremation). It took 12 days from death to cremation. Had someone notified me the doctor hadn't signed the death certificate, I certainly would have stepped in to expedite the process. It made the whole situation harder than it needed.

I have been an absolute mess and had no idea what steps to take after my dad died. Despite how disorganized I am, Robert was able to walk us through everything, get us a great price for the funeral, and they accommodated our every need. You can tell that they really care about your feelings and needs after a loved one passes away, and they were willing to even drive l the way to Anthony so that he could be buried there. Everything was set up for us and they remembered things like umbrellas for a hot day, a tent, and made sure that we had a good experience in such a horrible time for my family.

My dear 91 year old mom passed away on Nov 12th and Getz Funeral Home handled the arrangements on Nov 22nd. I dealt with Tristyn and I can honestly say he did everything with the upmost sensitivity, respect and professionalism. All of my requests were met and Tristyn suggested things that would never have occurred to me during such an emotional time. This is a great faculty that meets the needs of many. The staff all around are very kind and sympathetic to ones needs during a loss. The directors are knowledgeable in all their services and go out of their way to meet the families needs.

I've never had to deal with a funeral home, but this is one inept business. It took two weeks for them to cremate my father, I had two terrible weeks of worrying about my father; and even after i signed a document agreeing that I would press the button, they forgot to call me. In fact, they forgot to call us for a week saying my dad had been cremated. His ashes were delivered to us after his ceremony. This is no way to treat a grieving family. Our father passed away on March 14th, 2019 and Getz funeral home did all the arrangements for us. Chad Getz was there for us with the utmost respect and compassion for our family. He was always patient with us and answered all of our questions. The memorial service was perfect in every way and it was obvious how much pride Getz takes with every family. The most horendous experience in the wake of my brothers death. Lost his personal belongings, never called when they said they would, never called to let us know he had been cremated and his ashes could have been at the funerl, never warned us of the day he would be cremated even though we were promised we could so a family member could be there. They have made an unimaginablely difficult situation even worse. They just want money and pretend to care what the family is going through.

I was worried about Yelping a Funeral Home, but we used this company when my father-in-law passed away. I want people to know how well they took care of our family during our loss.
