Services
Depending on your current level or haircolor (light or darkness) it can take more than one application (and visit) to get to your desired shade of blonde. The hair can only physically go so light in one visit. Previously colored hair can complicate the process. Most clients do not get platinum blonde hair in a 2 hour visit.
Indoor air contaminants; ammonia, lye, thioglycolate, and formaldehyde are chemicals that can cause respiratory problems, headaches, and skin irritation. At Honeycomb we only use products that are free from such chemicals. With their absence the salon smells better and won't give you a headache! Not only are NO harmful chemicals entering the air, they are not soaking into your skin, or being washed down the drain into our water supply.
Ambur Gore began her Cosmetology training in 2004 in Arizona. She apprenticed a local salon owner, Ethan Murray of Urban hair, for two years upon graduating from Cosmetology school. After apprenticing and working at Urban Hair salon for two more years, Ambur wanted to create a workspace that specialized in Vegan and Organic Hair Care using less chemicals.
Every product we use and sell has organic ingredients wherever possible. No products contain ammonia, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic parabens, petroleum, animal ingredients, or plastics. No animal testing. Choosing an ammonia free color line with the lowest amount of PPD's of any permanent hair color line on the market today was a no brainer for us.

Ambur/Honeycomb has been my go-to stylist for 5+ years b/c she has mad skillz! She’s cut my hair super short, dyed it with a subtle purple streak & most recently gave me a brilliant balayage. At the beginning of the summer, I wanted to lighten up (haha in so many ways) & she committed to creating a balayage technique on my hair. My hair now is big: thick & long, so the process took her four hours. I had two separate appointments w/ about 6 weeks in between for this final desired effect.

I’ve had both Amber and Amra cut my hair over time, and they are both phenomenal. Super nice people, listen to what you want, yet offer their own ideas from their own experience, and I trust their eye and judgement. And they use natural products here. A good haircut makes a huge difference to me. I have long hair and my layers are lovely. Worth every penny.

First of all, this salon is organic and truly cares about ingredients and natural hair care. It's the reason I found it. It's small and intimate, friendly and non-pretentious, and truly focuses on the client.
My stylist Amra was 5 stars by herself. I showed her some inspiration photos and right away she knew what I was going for. Cool French style. She made me feel so comfortable with her down to earth personality and her knowledge. And she really spent time perfecting my hair, I felt like I got the royal treatment

If you want a great haircut in environmentally friendly place at a fair price, this is the place. When you walk out of this salon, you look and feel different and you know that you had a great haircut/color. Amber was handling my hair at first but for scheduling reasons, it is now Amra and both are very talented, professional and caring hairdressers and I will say no more, see for yourself now....

I have been a very happy client of Honeycomb for about a year now! Sarah nailed my color on the first visit and I haven't changed it since. She is a very humble and grounded person which goes extremely well with the overall feel of the studio! She has been nothing but great and even shared her chocolate covered espresso beans with me...what a gal! I have always left the studio feeling so great about myself and that's what its all about!

Everyone is SO friendly, so warm, I usually hate going to the salon, but I look forward to every trip to Honeycomb. Autmn has been doing maintenance on my dreadlocks for almost a year now, and I won't go to anyone else. Any questions or concerns I have, she always has an answer and is extremely knowledgeable. I can't say enough wonderful things about Honeycomb, you will definitely not be disappointed!

Sadly I had a very bad experience here - both in quality and in poor customer service. I've written a more in depth review on Yelp, I'll try to be more succinct here.
Overall I paid a lot of money for some hair highlights and I got NOTHING! The color didn't take at all and I left the salon the same way I walked in, only much poorer. I even tipped the stylist 20% not realizing my hair looked like crap still because I had to leave dripping wet and couldn't see the color. Though I suspected it hadn't turned out well. After a few decades of highlighting my hair, you can just tell these things.
