Call
Request new appointments, prescription refills, pay your bill, and communicate directly with your doctor with our secure patient portal. We believe that providing high-quality care is not only about the medical advice we give, but more importantly about the relationships we have with our patients. My entire experience from making my appointment to seeing the Doctor was timely and pleasant.

Sheri Shields is excellent! Very personable and thorough with my examination. With the death of Chadwick Boseman from Colon Cancer, it brought more attention to a disease that is responsible for the third most cancer-related death in the US. As a large comic nerd, Chadwick's passing was very upsetting to me.
Services
The physicians of Lawrenceville Family Practice have taken and passed the examination given by the National Board of Family Practice. The test is retaken every seven to ten years and must be passed to maintain this status. Recertification is mandatory for Board Certified Family Practice Physicians.
Routine physicals are an important part of your general health care maintenance and are intended to assess your overall health. If you are experiencing specific problems, please schedule an office visit to address those concerns. As a reminder, if you are scheduled for a routine physical, you must come in fasting 6 or more hours prior to your scheduled appointment time so that the blood work we draw will be as accurate as it can be.
Our preventative health program focuses on wellness and either preventing or finding at early stages medical problems which have life long effects. We offer our preventative healthcare services for all ages. Services include immunizations for both children or adults, guiding you to get screenings like Pap-smears, Mammograms, or Colon Cancer (3rd leading Cancer in the US), and lab work.
While Men's Health might not get the same type of attention as Women's health, Men are more likely to have earlier problems of high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and heart attacks then Women.

Plus, unlike most women who go to the Doctor's Office starting in their 20's to get Pap-Smears, it is not uncommon for men to go to the doctor's office only when they are sick, which can lead to missing simple things like high blood pressure or cholesterol issues. We pride ourselves in spending time even at sick visits to find simple and underlining issues and make plans for a later followup.
Women's Health is a very important topic for us and we strive to make sure we are able to accommodate every women's needs. This can be broken down between screenings/prevention, planning, and problems. We are happy to be working with Women's Imaging Specialist to remove one more place you have to go, as we offer Mammograms, Diagnostic Mammograms, Ultrasounds, and Dexa scans (Bone Density) in our office.

This was my first visit to Lawrenceville Family Practice and was very impressed. Dr. Van Riper was very professional and the staff worked very well together and very precise in patient care. When I had a question about the patient portal the receptionist was exceptionally helpful. This was a very positive experience.

We've been patients at Lawrenceville Family Practice for just about as long as they've been open. We used to live less than 5 minutes from the office, but even though we're now over 30 minutes away we make the trip. We appreciate all of the staff and their professionalism and compassion.

Today’s visit was nothing but disappointment . As always my wait time was 45min. I came in just to have some additional labs done, wasn’t advised when scheduling appointment that I will be seeing a provider, had no idea about that. On top of it wasn’t even the doctor I see. When the provider came in, she didn’t check me, she didn’t take my vitals ,
Literally nothing! My kid missed his dental appointment because of this, had to even pay last minute cancellation fee. When I tried to explain my point of view to one of the nurses she argued with me, was very short tempered and even labeled

I have been going to LFP for many many years and have been satisfied, until recently. The communication has been awful! Most recently it seems like things have changed. It took me almost 3 months to get an answer about my hormonal medication. After I finally reached out to the office manager she told me that I needed a copy of my mammogram. If I had known that’s all they need, I would’ve gotten him over a month ago. I made a trip to the facility that did my mammogram and sent it over to the office manager. I received a call the same evening from a work associate, not the manager, telling me

Went for a yearly appointment today after not having insurance for several years. My appointment was at 5:30 and I was not seen till 7:35. I waited TWO HOURS to be seen by Dr. Whiteneck who acted like he didn't even care. Zero bedside manner, glanced at my chart and did nothing. He barely said a word and just sat there and typed. When he finally asked why I was there I pulled out a list to go over and he immediately said oh we're not going to have time for all of that. EXCUSE ME?! I waited two hours to be told I need to see a specialist for basically everything. I asked to be tested for insulin

Patient beware! Some of their staff is very uneducated and nurse practitioners do not listen to your issues. I have twice been to the facility and agree with some of the comments the front desk is nice and the building is well-maintained. I had an issue that needed to be addressed with my anti-depressants. The nurse Practitioner told me to take something when it didn’t work and I return again told me I needed to take this medicine even know I was not having good reactions to it then told me that I could take it multiple times a day and once I feel better just stop and take it as needed. Dr. Van Riper should not be accepting new patients or he should at least find a way of politely declining patients he’s not interested in treating. He was incredibly rude when I brought my elderly mother in for an initial visit. She has a multitude of health problems and I certainly don’t blame him for not wanting to take on the burden of becoming her provider. However, he was incredibly rude-he did not even acknowledge her when he came in for the visit and nitpicked and challenged everything that was said while we were discussing her complicated medical history. It was obvious within the first

I was very hopeful when I found a clinic filled with D.O physicians, as I am well aware of the hours of OMM and the holistic medicine approach that one must go through to become a D.O rather than an MD. I had what seems to be an unfortunate experience with Dr.Domand- I was the probably one of the last patients of the day. She was very brief and quick to suggest invasive procedures despite me being a 1st time patient at this clinic and she never laid a finger on me during the visit. So I was very surprised when I opened my portal account and saw she had written that she had completed a full physical
