My son Cameron started hesitatingly, having tried martial arts a few years ago at a different studio and it was not a good experience for him. It took some prodding, but he finally decided to give it another try. I'm pleased to say the once hesitant Cameron loves Sensei Ben and his lessons and is loving it more and more every day!
As I am sure you noticed, James tends to verbalize his thoughts. We consider this a strength that he is not afraid to communicate. However, as we prepare him for kindergarten in the fall we want to help him develop skills to focus his energy on the present moment, be more aware of his surroundings by listening to others vs.

Excellent self defense school! Our 7yo daughter can’t wait for her next class. She has been enrolled for 8 months. The instructors are really good and teach the kids to be respectful, focused and work hard. I highly recommend this studio for families who want to have their kids in a routine, learn respect and gain confidence in a fun way.

I’ve been with Z-Ultimate around 4 years now. I’d been interested in martial arts since I was a kid, but I thought classes would be full of tough guys, and the teachers would be like drill sergeants, and it would be oh-so-serious. That image put me off. Then I found Z-Ultimate in Edina. The adult classes have students from a wide range of ages and abilities, and Ben Thomas is a gentle, encouraging teacher. We laugh a lot in class while learning effective techniques for defending ourselves. If you have been interested in the martial arts but have felt worried or intimidated by what you thought

Came to an introduction course with my fiancé’s coworkers. Fun to get exposure to different body relationships that I wouldn’t have considered a potential asset. Ben was great and I quickly found that the more I asked, the more value I got out of the team.
