Services
The Oregon Veterinary Clinic was founded as a mixed animal practice in 1972 by Dr. Jim Orvick and Dr. Larry Mahr. In 1999 Dr. Orvick and Dr. Mahr split the large and small animal practices, and the Oregon Veterinary Clinic continued as a small animal practice with Dr. Orvick and Dr. Mark Peters. In May of 2000, Dr. Orvick's daughter, Rachel, and her vet school classmate, Jim Stevenson joined the practice.
In keeping with our commitment to provide excellent patient care and outstanding service, we at Oregon Veterinary Clinic are excited to introduce you to your Pet Owner Portal! This portal offers you 24/7 access to your pet's medical information, as well as refill requests for your convenience, plus access to an extensive library of educational tools related to your pet's health.

Oregon Vet Clinic used to be the best vet, but their caring and support has declined significantly over the last year. We called them several times over the last month for a failing and elderly pup that we’ve had for 15 years (and under their care for nearly 7), each time them reporting they had no availability and that we would have to seek… emergency care. Most recently, we anticipated we would need to be saying goodbye sooner than later and were looking for support, again, we were told we needed to pursue emergency vet services. Our loyal companion of 15 years needed to be euthanized

We have been using them for over 9 years. Our first lab had to be rushed to UW because Oregon did not know what to do.
Surgeries on his stomach was very sloppy and left a large lump in the scar.
Our current lab was loosing weight, took her in and they said nothing was wrong. Three months later she was really looking bad and again they had no answers. We took her to UW and with in hours they said it was likely Addisons, they kept over night because she was so sick. Fluids and proteins and she was much better. we are now treating her and she is doing fine.
Please if your pet is sick, DO NOT take

We have brought several pets here as for for quite awhile they were the best option: they were fair, service was great and our pets always received the care that they needed.
They are a bit busier than they previously were, and diagnosing complex issues isn't their forte; since you may not deal with the same vet twice in a row, sometimes things get missed.
For routine care and check-ups, it's a great facility with kind staff. If you find that you have a pet that has a more serious malady, I'd recommend getting a second opinion.

It has taken me a very long time to even post about the experience that I had at Oregon pet service. I had one dog they saved that had An infection in her uterus and they let us make a payment plan for her emergency surgery which I paid off early. I also had one dog that was laid to rest there and I was so grateful for the experience I had I… brought the staff healthy snacks and gave them a thank you letter. However I had a sweet girl name Ginger I took her in twice in one week and told them something was wrong with her she either had an infection in her uterus or a bowel obstruction I was

We've been going to Oregon for the past 8 years and have spent hundreds of dollars. When we got our second dog he also has been taken here for everything. About a month ago I called for a very concerning lump on my dogs leg. I was told and I quote world for word "lumps and bumps are nothing to worry about, we can wait until next available" I called beginning of Dec and next available was end of Jan. I begged for an emergency spot but again I was told it was nothing to worry about. Found a different vet who said my dog needed to be seen right away. They got me in next day and needless to say we

I have nothing but great things to say about all of the staff at OVS!! My dog was being treated for heart worm and his second round he had an allergic reaction minutes after being brought out to me. He went… into anaphylaxis; they worked quickly to get him stable and better. My dog is back to he happy healthy self again!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Dr Ovick is a great doctor and great person, the front office on the other hand sucks, my staffordshire bull terrier had a scheduled c section but they never offered any test to get the date correct instead you… have to guess by breeding date, they refused me to take her in 1 day after scheduled made up excuses, so long story short 2 dead puppies later I took her to sondel vet CV clinic where they offer pedesterone testing FIRSt before going further to get exact date but she was already in labor.

They treat you like you have the plague. and won't let you defer your payment to a second appointment .and god forbid you are on SSI they don't understand that you are on a very limited income .all they care about is money .a routine visit for shots should not come to over 100.00 dollars !!!! very disappointed with the veterinarian office
