Discovery Parent Child Preschool has a long history, teaching children and parents alike. Back in the 60's the philosophy of the school was to provide a developmentally appropriate environment for children, enriched in play experience and guidance in social development. This is the same philosophy of today.
The needs of children have not changed. As a parent co-op, our preschool was also dedicated to offering parents opportunities to grow in their understanding of children and in the methods of guiding them. Today, we are still committed to educating the parent; so in that, parents learn and grow right along side their children.

Between the ages of two and five, children are forming many basic social skills and attitudes. Each child is unique, and they develop at their own rate. Discovery Parent Child Preschool provides a developmentally appropriate environment where the child learns while having fun. Play is one of the most important experiences of childhood.
Discovery's curriculum is based on a developmental approach to learning. Between the ages of two and five, a child acquires many basic social skills and attitudes; each child is unique and will develop at his or her own rate. We strive to provide the environment and direction to enhance each child's growth.
Like many of you, our Teachers and Board have been closely monitoring information about the spread of the Delta variant and are making necessary adjustments to our program based on recommendations from public health officials. Currently, we have made the decision to pivot to our outdoor class model.
Our playground, designed by a renowned architectural firm specializing in creative play areas, will keep your children happy for hours! The exciting play structures and slide promote large motor development and spatial awareness by allowing children to climb, run, and jump. An extensive sand and water play area, a garden for growing plants and flowers, and a woodworking bench encourage children to build and create.

We LOVE this parent-participation preschool for our family. The teachers are amazing, the playground is exceptional, and our son is thriving. Discovery shifted to outdoor learning through COVID-19, and we feel safe sending our son to school every day. We also feel supported as parents, and love the community feel.

My family came to Discovery 3 years ago with a shy little boy who was afraid to speak to adults and make new friends. That same little boy just recently walked into his kindergarten classroom with his head held high and excited for a new day of learning.
Discovery was the perfect fit for my little observer. The play-based learning style allowed my son to jump in when and where he felt comfortable. I loved being able to work in the classroom alongside my son and help encourage him into group play as well. The teachers do a fantastic job of getting down to the child's level and really connecting
