My 5 year old son loves class and the Sensei's are outstanding! It has really help with listening and discipline. They have great activities outside of class that really help to develop a family atmosphere. We just had a birthday party there; it was so easy and the kids LOVED it! Almost 2 years ago our 6 year old son wanted to try karate for the first time. He was scared and intimidated to try something new, but Mr. Houston and Ms. Celie made him feel welcome and at ease. Then 2 months later Covid hit and unfortunately all of their classes had to go online. While that was obviously beyond anyones control and not their first choice, the staff worked so hard to make sure our son got what he needed. He did classes all through Covid, and now two years later, he's 8 and absolutely loves it. We just got back from his Brown Stripe Belt Ceremony and are beyond happy with this place

I studied under Sensei Wade Houston for a number of years until I had to stop due to personal scheduling conflicts, Mr. Houston impressed me so much that I 8 years later brought my son to study under him - my son is closing in on his Black belt now!
Bottom line: Mr. Houston is the real deal - no participation trophies here, do your work, earn your belts and become a more capable version of yourself!

The class was fun for kids and the reception is kind and nice. That is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 star.
You need to know what you get into. I paid totally $400 for 4 weeks lessons LOL!!!

The 6 month contract with 60 days notice they asked you to sign does not actually execute on 60 days advance notice as written. But they charge the next 2 payment cycles instead . In my case, as I gave 60 day notice just 2 weeks after my first payment, they forced me to pay for the next 2 months and stay in the class for the next 80 days) or pay penalty of 25% of the

I had resisted karate for quite a while because it had never been anything that I was overly enthusiastic about. That all changed when my wife and son started taking classes at this dojo. Mr. Houston is extremely passionate about karate instruction and the hall of fame certificate and accolades mounted on his wall are well earned. I've been taking classes for a little over 6 months or so now and I can see myself staying with this dojo for years to come. From the time you enter and are greeted by Mrs Celie to the time you salute out of class at the end of your lesson you are treated with respect

My son has been taking classes for almost 4 years now at KIA and he is on a path for black belt. Mr. Houston teachers the student the art of the sport as well as respect, discipline and focus. It’s a great program for boys and girls that builds confidence and coordination. There are also leadership opportunities for the students as they progress in their belt rank. From a parents perspective it is so rewarding to see my child grow and mature as he pursues his goal of obtaining a black belt. My son and I have found a second home at KIA!

Both of my daughters have taken karate here and they both loved it. My youngest is now enrolled and it has been great for her. Mr. Houston is a great teacher and the kids love him. He instills discipline in an effective and fair way. My daughter really looks forward to coming to class. The school is a great mix of rigorous karate training and fun!
