Services
When a tooth nerve becomes infected, root canal therapy gives your tooth the opportunity to live and save your smile. Dental implants offer a smile that looks and feels very natural. A thorough evaluation is needed to ensure you have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. Think of sealants as an umbrella for your teeth, protecting the teeth against decay-causing bacteria.
Amber received her dental assistant certificate from Lane Community College and began work for her family dentist, Dr. Melvin Johnson in 1970. She was his chair side assistant and loved the patients and friendly banter that gave his practice its relaxed atmosphere. She married Brad in 1971 and continued to work for Dr. Mel "more or less" during the time their four children were born.
Refer to your After Care instructions given to you at the time of your procedures or download them by clicking after care. Even if you are not sure whether it is an emergency or not, please call us, and Dr. Johnson will determine the level of urgency. Urgent problems are worked into our schedule as soon as possible.
Clean between teeth daily with floss or an interdental cleaner. Decay causing bacteria still linger between teeth where toothbrush bristles can't reach. This helps remove plaque and food particles from between the teeth and under the gum line. Antimicrobial mouth rinses and toothpastes reduce the bacterial count and inhibit bacterial activity in dental plaque, which can cause gingivitis, an early, reversible form of periodontal (gum) disease.
Dental fillings fall into two categories based on the method used to place them. They are: direct restorations and indirect restorations. Direct restorations are fillings placed immediately into a prepared cavity in a single visit. They include dental amalgam, glass ionomers, resin ionomers and most composite (resin) fillings.

He has been my dentist for a long time and he has not only treated my oral problems , made good referrals, but also has educated me in the care of my teeth so that at 76 I have a good set of teeth and healthy gums. And his entire staff is competent and pleasant.

Five stars for Dr. Johnson and his staff! Not only is he a great dentist, he is also a wonderful human being. He is gentle, caring and kind with his patients and does lots of work in the communities of Albany and Scio for underprivileged families though food drives and pro bono dental work. He is also very patient with people that are anxious about visiting the dentist. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Johnson!
