We believe that young children learn best through experiences that are meaningful, interesting, and interactive in which they can connect learning in the classroom to their individual lives. Services
Created in our classroom as we listen to the children and find out more about what they are interested in learning about. We listen to their ideas through free play, organized activities, and discussions and incorporate the ideas that emerge from the children's interests into our curriculum. This allows us room to address the learning interests of the children in the class and shows them that their ideas are important and valuable.
Our daily routine provides children with the security and predictability of structure, while allowing flexibility for elaboration in children's ideas and interests.
We provide a balance of teacher lead and free choice activities while incorporating our curriculum and focusing on our mission: to provide high quality education while teaching the necessary skills needed to be ready for kindergarten by fostering intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth.It is our goal to provide engaging and interesting learning experiences with attention to different learning styles.

We use Positive Guidance techniques to manage children's behavior in the classroom. In addition, we set up our environment to minimize behavior problems. Children have spaces to be alone (while remaining supervised) if they need some space. We have a certain number of children allowed at each activity to minimize conflict.
Our director and preschool teacher, Valerie Seago, has enjoyed working with children for as long as she can remember. She has two wonderful daughters and loves spending time with her children and husband. Valerie graduated from Portland State University with honors, earning her Bachelors of Science in Child and Family Studies, Specializing in Early Childhood Education in Fall 2010.
