My name is John Lewis, and I'm married with two girls, Kristyn and Kelly. We also have three dogs, four cats, a horse, two ponies, and two donkeys to help make up our family. I grew up in Newport News, Virginia with my brother and sister. I attended James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., where I received my B.S. in biology in 1986.
Keeping your pet happy and healthy from birth is important. However, many pet owners forget that the process starts by incorporating regular veterinary care. Here are a few reasons why we suggest pet owners keep an annual schedule for physical exams and vaccinations. Perhaps the most important part of scheduling an annual physical exam is to allow your pet a chance to get acquainted with our caring veterinary team.
At Eastwaye Veterinary Clinic, our caring and compassionate veterinary team is here to address any questions and concerns you might have. Here are a few important pieces of information to keep in mind during your pet's surgical procedure. Before beginning surgery on your pet, we will conduct a thorough examination and review of vital signs to determine the current health of the animal and make plans for the upcoming procedure.
You would do almost anything for your cat or dog, but did you know that keeping your pet healthy includes making sure their dental needs are met? At Eastwaye Veterinary Clinic, we're here to help with a variety of services including cleanings and extractions. Dental care is an extremely important part of the veterinary health care.
The general rule of thumb in small animal veterinary medicine is "if you are not going to breed them, then neuter them". That's because most dogs and cats make better behaved healthier pets if neutered. Neutering at a young agecan prevent many diseases at a later age. In females, this includes mammary cancer, uterine infections/pyometra as well as others.
