When we shoot weddings, we combine the traditional with the modern. We work as a team for weddings, so while Paula is capturing portraits, Michael is working to capture the candid moments. Our children are grown now, (the nest is empty). They are three amazing individuals, we have been blessed to be their parents and watch them grow & mature right in front of us.
Out of all of your wedding vendors on your day you are with your photographer the most and you'll want someone you'll love throughout your entire wedding day. Someone who is educated and experienced on what to do if any situation arises or if you need help coordinating with vendors or family and has serviced over 300 weddings with the experience to make your day memorable.

When we started planning our wedding we wanted to look at quite a few photographers... We met with Mike and Paula first and knew instantly that they were the ones we wanted for our big day. We did our due diligence in meeting with some of the others but none of them stacked up. We were drawn to Thisday because of their clear expertise and understanding of what went into capturing every detail of our wedding.

They are so much more than photographers. They really take care of the bride and groom throughout the day. Let me start off by saying that Paula and Mike were great. Our family and guests loved them and they were enjoyable to be around. We also got some really great wedding photos.
However, I am not happy with our experience as a whole. It started with our engagement session. We requested rural photos, but did not leave the city limits of Ames. Our pictures all felt and looked fake and posed. They always spelled my name wrong and called my husband Tyler, and his name is Ty. This seems like a major thing to get right when working with clients who are paying you thousands of dollars.

We spent a lot of time deciding on what photographer we wanted for our wedding and I'm so so happy we chose Thisday. Paula and Mike were so incredible and helpful the whole day of the wedding. They not only made sure our pictures were incredible but they assisted us in many other ways and helped our day go so smoothly. They are so passionate about photography and are genuinely nice and caring people. We could not be happier with our pictures, they turned out so amazing and captured our day perfectly! If I could give them 10 stars I would. I highly reccomend!

My wedding was 9/22/2014, and although we did not know them before getting our engagement photos, they added so much to our special day! Their experience gave us great insights to get the best pictures. Paula was so sweet and patient, and Spenser, my husband, had a blast with Mike. Also, we LOVE our pictures - engagement AND wedding pictures. The BEST photographers we have ever met!
