What draws me to photography the most is the joy and spontaneity that can be captured in a single image. I love people, and truly believe that everyone has a story to tell. It brings so much joy to me to be able to tell a story -- your story -- through photography. In 2007, I graduated with a degree in photojournalism and portrait photography at Hawkeye College in Waterloo, Iowa.
After graduation, I spent several years working for the Ames Tribune where I captured creative, poignant, and editorial images for multiple publications. Currently, I'm enjoying life as a freelancer and business owner, and I'd love the opportunity to work with you. I am available for wedding, portrait, editorial, and photojournalism photography and will happily travel almost anywhere.

Amy photographed for our wedding almost 10 years ago. This year she took pictures for our twin babies. Both times the pictures are beautiful and we treasure them greatly. Amy is wonderful to work with. She is artistic and uses natural light to bring out the true beauty. On the day she took pictures for my twins, because of the condition for the light was great outdoors, she was willing to work under 100% humidity and the heat just to capture some beautiful shots and moments reflecting the personality of the babies.

We used Amy for our wedding photos as well as family photos 3 times. She is an absolute pleasure to work with! Great communication, quick responses, and takes awesome photos! We have 4 kids under 5 and she still somehow managed to take beautiful family photos! We won’t use anyone else for our photography needs. She is so patient with babies and kids to get those perfect moments that are hard to capture. I am still so surprised what wonderful shots she got of our babies! We hired Amy to photograph our 2 Airbnb properties. Her photos turned out amazing! Not only was she professional & warm but noticed small details and suggested helpful feedback to get the perfect shot. I know her photos are pivotal in us getting our bookings! We got incredibly precious pictures of our newborn twins and had a blast watching Amy make them! She is great with kids and produced stellar images that our friends and family rave over. We were also thrilled with the rates and speedy delivery! If you need pictures taken in Story County, there's no better option!

Amy provided us with an incredible photography experience on our wedding day. She has extraordinary attention to detail and takes care in setting the scene before taking a photograph. My husband and I got married this summer and we knew that the photos were one of the key things we were going to be picky about. When we found Amy's website, we were blown away by her style and how she used a lot of color in her photos (we aren't into the "muted/dreamy" color scheme that some people use). Amy was so easy to work with and got along great with the people in the wedding. She was not pushy with her ideas, but she always had a plan, which I appreciate!
