Services
For over 85 years, the Renner family has been privileged to serve families in Belleville, Freeburg, Smithton and surrounding communities. We consider our relationship with individual families to be a sacred trust. We strive to work with families, to accommodate their wishes and to provide dignified, meaningful funerals or memorial services at a reasonable, competitive price.
Following WWI, George Renner, Sr., graduated from mortuary school and was employed at local funeral homes. In 1929, he and Mr. Otto Schneider established the Renner-Schneider Funeral Home at 105 North Illinois Street. After several years of business, this partnership dissolved. In 1934, George Renner Sr., co-founded Renner, Geminn, & Bergman Funeral Home at 120 North Illinois Street, Belleville, IL.
When pre-planning a funeral, all of your thoughts and wishes are planned for. Your family will know what you want, and not what they think you want. At Renner Funeral Home, we'll help you put it in writing. Writing it down will help avoid family disputes, or involvement by others that may not know what your wishes are.
Every family is different, and not everyone wants the same type of funeral. Funeral practices are influenced by religious and cultural traditions, costs and personal preferences. These factors help determine whether the funeral will be elaborate or simple, public or private, religious or secular, and where it will be held.
With our Cremation Services, Renner Funeral Home believes you should be able to choose the type of service that you find most meaningful. That's why our list of services includes many options. Contrary to what most people believe, cremation does not limit one's choices, nor does the choice of cremation necessarily eliminate a funeral service.

We had done business with Renner's for years on a B2B level, and they've always been amazing to deal with. However, when my dad suddenly passed a couple months ago, it was no question that Renner was where we had to go. I couldn't have imagined having anyone handle my dad's funeral. David, Mike, Jim, Bill--they all were wonderful. You truly get personal, hometown service here. This is a lifelong Belleville family and you're not treated like a number or offered ridiculous packages; it's PERSONAL. Many other, corporately owned funeral homes sell funerals and sell them

I wanted to write a review telling everyone how happy I was with Renner's handling of my mothers funeral. I was very pleased with the service and would recommend to a friend in their time of need.
