Sensei James Hawkes was a 10th Degree Black Belt. He had over 50 years experience teaching in the martial arts. His karate school is the longest established school in New Mexico. In the 1960's and 1970's he was a nationally known competitor and was rated in the top 10 fighters by Black Belt Magazine for three years in a row.
He won or placed in over 250 tournaments. Sensei Hawkes was a Founder of the United States Karate Alliance and a member of the Trias International Society and Alliance Hall of Fame. He was rated as one of the top three coaches of the year by both the United States Karate Association and the United States Karate Alliance.

Okay, so this is the only karate dojo I know well, but my comments are based on three years of my two kids going here. They really do what I want them to do for the kids. They make it just fun enough for them to accept the discipline and rigor of learning karate. They emphasize character and good behavior while still giving them a lot to learn and goals to reach. It's nice to have someplace where I feel good about leaving my kids for that hour, knowing that they are in good hands.

Excellent place for karate. Available for all children and adults. You can kick start your karate at any age. Excellent family oriented karate school. Can compete at local tournaments or travel to tournaments. Lots of fun and meet new friends. Come on out and have some fun. Try it out and if you like it come join the school.
