At Alliance Jiu-Jitsu in Atlanta, we believe that martial arts training can help every child and adult develop the mental and physical skills they need to succeed in life. Martial Arts isn't just about self-defense like so many believe. At Alliance Jiu-Jitsu, it's all about self-confidence, improved focus, physical strength, and positive social interaction.
Alliance Jiu-Jitsu teaches our members to set goals, work hard, and follow-through, all the while having fun and making friends. Studying BJJ gives kids and teens the knowledge that they can leverage their body's strength to accomplish things they never thought possible. Over time, it increases self-confidence and pride - and that carries over to work, home, and every area of their lives.

Martial Arts is very important to Alliance in Atlanta. Our instructors are here to guide, instruct, and motivate our members to be the best they can be and impact Atlanta in a positive way. We are here to help parents raise their children to be confident leaders, boost their self-esteem, feel healthy, and get in great physical shape.
Jacare is an 8th-Degree Red and White Belt in BJJ. Born in 1952, he began his BJJ training at 11 years old. Living in the same neighborhood as the Gracies, at the age of 16, he joined the famous Gracie School in Copacabana. He was in the same BJJ class as Carlos Gracie Jr., Crolin Gracie, Fabio Santos, Mauricio Gomes, the Machados, Rickson Gracie, and many others.
Martial arts training teaches focus, discipline, self-control, and respect. These traits help children let go of petty grievances and learn to pay attention to the things that are most important to their future success. Sometimes, kids don't do well in school because they have difficulty focusing or disciplining themselves to study.
Since the popularity of mixed Martial Arts hit mainstream media, more and more people in the Atlanta community are looking to Martial Arts classes for their fitness and workout routine. Our programs will help you or your child improve their physical strength, flexibility, confidence, and self-discipline.

The best Jiu Jitsu school around. I have trained at Alliance for a few years and just love the place. The instructors are all excellent and extraordinarily helpful, and it really starts to feel like a family when you settle in. Undoubtedly worth every penny.

I’m evacuated from New Orleans for Ida. I was immediately made welcome. Professor is very knowledgeable and supportive. I’m a 49 year old female white belt who is exhausted. No of that was an issue. I wish I could name names but I don’t know anyone yet really. That didn’t matter. I was welcomed and taught good things.

Excellent place to train with great people and great instructors. Leo Nogueira is one of the best instructors in the world and is an overall good person w/ exceptional character. All the other instructors are great and the founder is of course a legend and father figure to many of his students. Real Jiu Jitsu for everyone exists here.... Alliance all the way...

Great group of guys to train with. Dropped in from out of town and all the instructors and students were very hospitable. It was nice to meet an outstanding black belt Leo Nogueira. Highly recommend anyone to stop by if you’re not from the area.

If you're looking to train jiu jitsu and want to learn from the best, Alliance is the place. Young or old, it doesn't matter. You will train with world champions and be part of a team that I consider more like a family. The instructors are second to none with knowledge of all aspects of martial arts. Whether you're interested in competing, self defense or just fun and fitness, Alliance will train you right. I am extremely lucky to train with such a top notch group.

My 16 year old is loving it! They have created a positive and respectful learning environment. Besides, all the professors including the most knowledgeable ones oversee the daily development of all groups regardless of the students level. Recommended to any athlete looking to improve balance, flexibility, mental toughness and more. It is helping my young soccer player!

By far the best place to train jiu jitsu! World champion instructors that are very patient and want to help you learn. I highly recommend training at Alliance whether you're a first timer or advanced. Their fundamentals program makes sure you learn the basic skills in a non intimidating atmosphere and safely progress.

Great school to learn the art of Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. The owners and teachers are all knowledgeable, nice and really want to see you grow and learn. They have a lot of options for class times which is a plus for people who have a busy life and work schedule. Definitely would recommend this school if you are wanting to learn good, strong martial arts. I Highly recommend this school!
They have a good amount of girls to train with which is always a plus!

I used to go to school back when it was on Roswell rd. Man this school absolutely sucks, I really didn't have any issues being locked on a long term contract. However, what about the bad sportsmanship of the students, and the instructors lack of interest in the students progress. Then again such concerns are typical of a Mcdojo!

What makes a martial art school excel above the rest? I believe it's a combination of the education, facility, support, and most importantly, the community. The Alliance community soon becomes your extended family, helping you grow and bringing the best out of you. However, the training is anything but smooth sailing. Alliance prides themselves on arduous, yet effective training. If you can stand up to the challenge, you'll find yourself in a much stronger state of mind, body, and soul. A better version of yourself, which you can easily carry on into other areas of life, whether that

By far the best BJJ school you will find. I trained at Alliance for just over a year a few years back. I stopped going 4 years ago and regret it. I had tried a few other schools over the past 4 years and they are all a JOKE compared to Alliance. Jacare is the best instructor you will find this side of the equator. They train hard and train smart - they product champions (the schools records speak for themselves). I recently started going back to Alliance a few weeks ago - the school has grown significantly, but they still give the personal attention you need. It's a great way to get back in

My family (husband and sister) and I train here. The instructors and the students here are all world class folks and some even have fan clubs and all sorts of following due to their fame and success. Though that being the case, they are all very down-to-earth about the art of BJJ and are all very approachable and accessible people that really care about your learning and progress without the flashy stuff that I've seen at other gyms around town (having multiple world champions around is great for humbleness).
Being a girl beginner, everyone assumes that you would only be comfortable training

I started training with Alliance when I met my now wife (she was also a student) but we have moved to another place because of proximity and to support our friend. All that aside, this place is also at the top for instruction. Jacare has trained so many champions and it's no wonder people go here. If you live OTP, it's got the perfect location but traveling from the city to classes was too much of a hassle for me. I still respect Jacare and his students so I wish them the best.

Day 30 training with jacare (alligator)
i spent the last 2 days training here. it's legendary and jacare is the head of the alliance team. some of the best guys have come out of alliance, including marcello garcia, cobrinha, fabio gurgel, franjinha, and chris moriarty.
i learned a lot of great techniques and got to roll with a lot of their tough guys. they were all getting ready for pan ams for jacare was matching people up and having them train 10 min rounds. it was exhausting.
i did end up losing a toe nail there haha. that's when you know you are training tough! but no one hurt
