Aikido Decatur offers classes for vaccinated students only at Decatur Healing Arts, 619B East College Ave., Decatur, GA 30030. Wednesdays 7:00 to 8:30 pm, and Saturdays 9:30 to 11 am. Come to class at least 15 minutes early to enroll. Aikido is a non-violent martial art for all ages that teaches how control or escape from attackers while not harming them.
When someone attacks, an aikidoist will move in the same direction and at the same speed as the attacker, blending with their energy without a hard impact. Through consistent training, aikidoists develop a heightened sense of their surroundings, the ability to resolve conflicts without injury, and an attitude of harmony that can help keep them from being attacked in the first place.

Services
Aikido class is a great way for parents and children to spend time and to learn together. At Aikido Decatur we believe it is a wonderful thing for a child to experience having an impact on how their parent moves and behaves. And aikido class is an excellent training ground for parents and children to develop their relationship with each other.

Sensei Joel is a superb teacher for adults AND children. I’ve never seen anyone so versatile at doing both. He is clearly a master at aikido and pedagogy. This martial art is one of the most versatile for all to learn to use your opponents’ actions against them!

I've been bringing my 6 yr old son here for about 2 months now and am so glad I found this place! Joel (the instructor) is very kind and patient with the kids. My son has grown to really love going. I love that I can bring a book or do some work while he's there. And its affordable! I highly reccommend Aikido Decatur :)
