Kuk Sool Won Of Oak Hill Martial Arts
Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill Martial Arts specializes in children's classes ages 4-6, 7-12, 13+ adult, Women's Self Defense Workshops, Spring Break Camp, and Summer Camps. Students are encouraged, empowered, and supported not only in the martial arts but in life skills too. The martial arts will teach self control, concentration, focus, teamwork, etiquette, discipline, respect, commitment, character and behavior development, leadership, and courage.

Students progress at their own pace, according to their own abilities, and are encouraged to attend as often as their schedule allows. We offer age specific classes (4-6; 7-12; 13+ adult) as well as classes that allow families to train together. Our classes provide quality martial arts instruction for men, women, and children as young as age 4, and older adults of all ages.
Services
Kuk Sool Won is a systematic study of all of the traditional fighting arts, which together comprise the martial arts history of Korea. As a martial arts system, Kuk Sool Won is extremely well-organized; and seeks to integrate and explore the entire spectrum of established Asian fighting arts and body conditioning techniques, as well as mental development and traditional weapons training.
Our children's program is designed to help students develop focus, discipline, and respect. The activities that are done in class help to improve coordination and balance. The belt system is designed to teach students to set goals and to feel proud when they accomplish them. They learn commitment and perseverance that they are able to apply to other areas of their life, including school.
Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill Martial Arts is an approved AISD Off Campus Physical Education (OCPE) Provider. The purpose of the OCPE Program is to accommodate students who are making a serious effort to develop higher-level skills in a specific activity that exceeds what the school district can offer through the general physical education program.

We were looking for a martial arts studio and after reviewing several, we decided to join this one. Nearly 9 months later, we couldn't be more happier. Our son loves the school and all the instructors. The school's owners Barbara and Tim are really nice people who make everyone feel welcome and the school is like a large family in itself.

I can't say enough good things about Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill. My 8 year old son was interested in trying a martial art and they offered an introductory class so we decided to give it a try. Best decision ever! He attends twice a week and looks forward to every class. The owners and instructors are knowledgeable, attentive, patient, and firm. The skills he has learned in these past months have been valuable not only for martial arts but outside of classes as well. We've really enjoyed seeing his confidence and his passion for Kuk Sool grow and we have this fabulous school to thank for it.

Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill is a very well run and supportive martial arts school of the highest caliber. My child is a student there and due to her experience and what I have observed, I will be joining her as a student myself!
Barbara and Tim have created a true martial art family with this school. That is clearly evident in how they operate the school, how they teach students, the deep bench of senior rank students who have been with the school for years, how they celebrate their students and family members with school events and how they engage the families of those students.

This review is long overdue! My son started in the summer in the tiny tigers class. We were looking for something to help my son gain discipline and self confidence as well as gain strength. This has not only met our expectations, it has far surpassed what we were looking for. We initially started with the intro month to make sure he was really interested in doing martial arts before investing in the full classes (which I think it a great way to see if it’s a good fit!). We also really loved the Covid safety protocols they have in place to ensure they keep their staff and the students safe during

This review is for the womens self defense course my daughter attended on 7/25/21. She learned so much important information and techniques that she said were easy to absorb and retain. She loved how hands on and practical it was, as well as a great duration (1.5hrs) She said the instructors were terrific. Thank you for offering this to the community and making it affordable.

We have been so pleased with our experience! We started when my daughter was 4.5 years old and I feel like it was perfect timing.
They have her focusing on listening, respectful manners, calming their body to await instruction, formal Korean martial arts etiquette, along with what I imagine is standard martial arts physical fitness and coordination.
While we could have chosen a more physically active and moving sport, I feel like this school will be a phenomenal foundation for her future no matter her choices in extra curricular activities.

My 5 year old joined Kuk Sool a few months ago and it has been a positive experience. This is her first extra curricular activity and she’s having a great time! I appreciate that they teach responsibility (she needs to bring her water bottle and sparring gear) and respect for others (acknowledging instructors as “yes ma’am or no sir”). My daughter enjoys the “games” they play to stretch and exercise and has fun during class! She’s learned self awareness and self regulation and importantly, how to use her voice and body to protect herself. In just the short time I’ve been a part

Our seven-year-old daughter has been training at Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill since she started in the Tiny Tigers program over two years ago. In short, it has been a wonderful experience! The school owners + staff are incredibly welcoming, kind, patient, encouraging and supportive. There is a solid sense of community/family at the school, from staff to students and families. The biggest impact we’ve seen to our daughter is a major boost in her confidence and courage; while it’s an excellent physical workout, the kids are also taught respect, control and responsibility. While we were sad to step

My 6 year old has been attending Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill for about 8 months and absolutely loves it. I've noticed a huge boost in his confidence, which was the main reason we wanted him to join. The instructors are excellent with the Tiny Tigers program, dealing with all sorts of kids at different levels. They're kind, informative, fun, inclusive, and qualified. My son has learned so much through this program and is excited to go to class every week. I highly recommend giving the school a try if you're looking to build character, confidence, and want to have some fun!

Kuk Sool Won of Oak Hill is the best! We found it a year ago on recommendation from other moms in South Austin. My 5 year old boys started mid January 2020 and the pandemic hit just 2 months later in March. The majority of our time at KSW has been online (with classes outside more recently). I've been very impressed with the professionalism and dedication of the owners Tim and Barbara in how they've set up the Zoom online experience for the small children. It is very hard to engage 3-6 year olds, but the staff has been very creative and organized from the start! My boys tested for their first belt
