No one plans on being arrested for criminal charges, much less the cost of hiring an attorney. A requirement of almost all DWI charges is obtaining an alcohol/drug assessment, and following any treatment recommended. Judges are authorized in many cases to require a continuous alcohol monitoring device as a condition of probation or parole.
