Ukiah Veterinary Hospital was originally established by Dr. Art McChesney. He sold it in 1971 to Dr. Don Aldine, who ran the practice until the most recent sale to Dr. Edward Haynes in 1994. Dr. Haynes was born in San Francisco. He was raised in Marin County, lived in U.S. Virgin Islands, New York, and La Jolla, before returning to San Francisco Bay Area (Piedmont, Oakland, Hayward) then to Davis, Eureka, finally Ukiah.

Many pets are destroyed because of behavior problems. Aggression, inappropriate elimination, and property destruction are common in undisciplined animals. Responsible owners who have established dominance and then obedience-trained their dog rarely have problems. Canines are not humans and vice versa.

I had a horrible experience and so did my dog. I took her in for teeth cleaning. When I came to pick her up, they had removed ALL of her teeth. While the doctor had explained to us the full range of dental care they provide including extraction when required, I never dreamed he'd remove ALL of her teeth without so much as calling me. It might have something to do with the fact that when we came in for the initial exam and he tried to look at her teeth, she bit him. She is traumatized and so are her humans. Terrible communication. I also found the receptionist/office person to be rude and difficult

My dog required emergency care and Dr. Haynes' office staff worked to get him seen the next day. This is in contrast with other clinics in town that charge a fee for emergency visits and even then not agree to see the animal no matter how long you have been a regular customer. Dr. Haynes conducted a thorough examination and performed a needed surgery the next week. Dr. Haynes, Vet tech Todd, and office staff Jessica and Pilar have been professional, courteous, and efficient. My dog is recovering and back to his old self thanks to the team at Ukiah Veterinary Hospital.

I'm happy that we switched to this Veterinarian. Staff is friendly, And the doctor listens to your concerns and address them. The Doc really knows his stuff! I found the advice and care We have received here was much better than more Expensive places. I also like that we don't have to worry About staffing That changes over constantly. The prices are very reasonable here and I feel that I get the great value.

New to town a year ago, and with a new puppy needing all the first-year vet services, I reviewed my options online and choose Dr. Haynes. It was a full-service year for Colt, with all the shots, the neutering, a chipped tooth, and a throat irritation. Over 40 years of pet ownership, I've had good vets, and I've had bad vets. Ukiah Animal Hospital is, hands-down, the best veterinary operation that I have ever seen. Dr. Haynes is plain-spoken, and wise in the ways of critter care. Staff is quick, polite, and expert. Iv take two pets of mine here and I am not impressed with how he handles my dog. My dog is a large dog but he is not use to anyone being so rough with him or forcing him to do anything. He's been to a different vet before so he's kind of aware of what's going to happen but just the way he is as with my dog made me very upset and I'm sure he knew that by time I left so thanks Todd

While on vacation, my golden retriever inhaled a foxtail. I was driving to a vet emergency hospital and spotted UVH on the way. Luckily, they had an opening and Dr. Haynes diagnosed and removed the foxtail without fuss. I was in and out of the hospital with my dog within 1.5 hours. Everyone from the reception to the vet assistants was very friendly and helpful.

I honestly don't know how this place is getting 5 star reviews. We just had our cats' claws trimmed yesterday but will never be going back. The last time I had my cats' claws trimmed at this place, the man clipped one of my cat's claws too short and she hissed. When we were there yesterday, not only did she hiss twice at him for cutting her claws too short, we noticed there was some blood on the clippers as well. My husband pointed this out and he said, "Oh, that's because I didn't clean them from the last appointment." Last time I checked I'm pretty

Dr. Haynes saw our family dog after hours last night and did a superb job with her. His emergency service plus medications cost half of what other vets quoted us for months ago for a scheduled procedure. He is very gentle and thorough and clearly very dedicated to his profession. I can't thank him enough!

I started coming here because my cat got hit by a car and couldn't get in for an emergency appt with my normal vet. Dr. Hanes did an amazing job caring for her and got her all back to normal in no time. I also brought my dog here when she had fox tails stuck in her throat and once again, he got them removed quickly and did an amazing job with her. I have completely switched over to this vet because I LOVE the way they handled my animals(nothing but the upmost care and compassion) and they aren't here to take all your money! I have a pit-bull and it's hard for anyone to tend to her because she's really scared and naturally gets aggresive. but this place has been really nice and just took charge despite the aggression my dog gave off and in the end she would lick the doctor and his helpers it was just the sweetest thing. glad i found this place and would recommend it to anyone!
