Aikido is a martial art, born in Japan. It combines the spiritual, mental and physical aspects of an art designed to protect you and the person attacking you. We are located in Richmond, very close to Katy and in Houston. An easy 10 minute drive from Betway 8 and Westheimer or right off the I-10 and Cambell exit.
We have both a monthly rate and a drop in mat fee for those that would like to stop in and either try a class or are coming in from out of town and would just like to train. Numbers are important. With over 1.5 million people doing Aikido around the world, it's fun and easy to find a dojo in any city!

Services
Aikido ShinKiKan was founded by Erik Sasha Calderon, in 1998. Now with over 40 years of experience in the martial arts he continues to teach and train every week. At the age of 21 he moved to Tokyo, Japan where he lived for over 6 years training at the Aikikai World Headquarters under Kisshomaru Ueshiba.
The journey starts with your first class. Getting on the mat and learning how to fall, how to walk on your knees, how to swing a sword, just might feel like your taking your first steps again. You'll get sore, you'll get frustrated, and you will grow physically, mentally and spiritually. Aikido is an amazing martial arts with a lot of special benefits you will enjoy and be able to take advantage of when training at the Dojo.
Classes are held at the Texas Rock Gym on Monday and Wednesday nights from 6:15PM - 8:15PM. This class is a more intense version and does require a commitment to physical fitness. With 4 hours of training on Saturdays and Sundays, you're sure to fulfill your workout needs for the week. Visit the Arlington Aikido website for more information on the fee structure and class schedules.
