In Morihei Ueshiba's eternal words, "Aikido is the way of nonresistance and is, therefore, undefeatable from the start." Ueshiba developed aikido early in the 20th century, branching from the "hardstyle" Japanese warrior arts and merging with Ueshiba's personal philosophy. From its inception, aikido has served as a nonresistant martial art focused on self-defense.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends children aged 6 to 14 exercise in order to improve cardio respiratory and muscular fitness, bone health, and cardiovascular and metabolic health bio markers. WHO goes on to state that children should accumulate at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity daily and most of this activity should be aerobic.
Students aged 15 and up can participate and benefit from aikido lessons for adults from Aikido of El Paso. Aikido is more than just a kind of self-defense. It is an effective way to increase flexibility and strength while decreasing stress and weight. When an adult chooses aikido, he or she will exercise while learning a traditional martial art.
Aikido of El Paso has been providing aikido lessons to the Southwest area for over twenty years. Throughout our time, we've seen a fair share of beginners come through our doors. These individuals come to our dojo from many walks of life but they all gain one very important thing: the mastery of the self.
Aikido of El Paso offers classes for all ages and experience levels. It is a martial art that, on principle, caters to students of every age. As students advance in the art, they gain the ability to move on to our general or mixed classes. Unlike the other classes taught at Aikido of El Paso, which are all open to anyone, admission to mixed and general classes is at the discretion of the sensei teaching.
