Needham Spine Care
The human spine serves two most important functions: Support of the head and body in the upright posture against the everpresent forces of gravity, as well as protection of the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord) and portions of the peripheral nervous system (spinal nerves).

The brain is housed and protected by the skull, brainstem and spinal cord passing through the foramen magnum, a hole at the base of the skull, into a canal formed by 24 moveable vertebrae, and 31 pair of spinal nerves, each consisting of millions of individual fibers that carry a continuous stream of vital, life sustaining messages to every organ, tissue and cell.

Dr. Jim Dolan is a 1974 graduate of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and a 1981 Magna Cum Laude graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the world's oldest and most distinguished chiropractic college.

Since 1981, he has been dedicated to providing effective, comprehensive care for a variety of spine related disorders, including but not limited to: HEADACHES, FACIAL PAIN, NECK/SHOULDER AND ARM PAIN, LOWER BACK AND LEG PAIN, SPINAL ARTHRITIS, SCIATICA due to DISC HERNIATION, SPORTS INJURIES, FOOT/ANKLE/KNEE PAIN, and others.
We are proud to provide a state-of-the-art facility for the highest quality chiropractic care available. The comfort and well-being of our valued patients is one of our top priorities. We are confident that you will feel right at home in our office as we welcome all patients as if they were family.
Did you know that chiropractic dates back to the time of Hippocrates? He believed that if the spine was misaligned, it greatly contributed to the health of an individual. The modern day school of chiropractic dates back to 1895, when Dr. Daniel Palmer adjusted a man that had lost his hearing 17 years prior.
A PRECISELY DELIVERED, gentle and controlled contact on the first vertebrae in the neck (ATLAS) is designed to restore balance to the spine. Even though the primary focus of the adjustment is in the neck, the effects of this important correction influences the whole spine and all body systems. This is because the atlas orthogonal procedure influences one of the highest control centers over body balance, the brain stem and central nervous system.
Our goal is to serve your healthcare needs in the best possible way. During your first visit we want to make sure that you receive a thorough examination and have your questions answered.

The process begins by thoroughly reviewing your detailed health history including your chief complaint(s), review of systems, surgical and family history, exercise habits and history of any past traumas, including motor vehicle accidents, recreational and sports injuries, work related traumas, and prior treatment programs, diagnostic testing including imaging studies and their results.

Dr. Dolan is great, his front desk folk and the fact I wait about 15-30 min to be seen not so much. I arrive early, but don't get seen until AT LEAST 15 or more after my appointment. That aside, my pain has significantly subsided and he gives you things you should do on your own to help correct your issues.

I don't know what the office is doing with appointment scheduling but I feel that there is significant room for improvement. I'd try to come during the day, but with delays, I worry I'll miss meetings and other work related items, which are things I can't do.
