Who decides what type of health care and medicine will work best for you, your situation, your values and how you truly want to heal and improve your wellness? Your government? Your insurance? Your Parents? Ummmm. You? I say, YOU. Does it matter to providers if they perform patient-centered care? I would think so. and hope so.
Absolutely, in my opinion. Unless we're talking about an emergency care situation, knowing your patient's background in depth (especially if they're military) is essential to effective and appropriate care. If you don't know your patient was close to an improvised explosive device (IED) but do know they have hearing loss and ringing in the ears, you may just treat those.

This is a medical scam business led by Dr. Shannon Ginnan and Calista. I visited this practice thinking they are experts in Functional medicine. On my initial visit I noticed the staff was weird and dry with pale face.
The doctor did not bother to look at my previous medical tests and suggested I do four tests that would be covered by my insurance. They gave me kits for all these tests which require samples to be shipped to Salveo in Richmond, Virginia.
Next day I was shocked to find out they have billed my insurance for over ten thousand dollars when I have not even taken any tests yet.
I canceled

Update: 7/9/18 - still no check. My insurance company spoke with them on 6/22/18 about some charges VIH said they were entitled to keep because the insurance company had not paid according to the fee schedule. Insurance company said they should not keep a patient's money in that case, that they should file an appeal with the insurance company. I was told by ins. co. that I would be getting a call from VIH. Never got a call. Left VIH a voicemail on 7/3/18 and still never got a return call. Called my insurance company again today who connected me with Calista at VIH who was more concerned about the

Full unprofessionalism. Avoid this practice at all cost. All they care about it’s just money. Nothing else. They don’t treat you right as a patient and don’t care about your health issues.
They didn’t care about my pain after practices and blamed me for my previous health issues! You gotta be kidding me! And I specifically asked and mentioned that 3 times!
Long story short- please save your money and yourself.
