A preventive program is a cooperative effort by the patient, dentist, and dental staff to preserve the natural dentition and supporting structures by preventing the onset, progress, and recurrence of dental diseases and conditions. A comprehensive dental exam will be performed by your dentist at your initial dental visit. Examination of diagnostic x-rays (radiographs): Essential for detection of decay, tumors, cysts, and bone loss. X-rays also help determine tooth and root positions. Oral cancer screening: Check the face, neck, lips, tongue, throat, tissues, and gums for any signs of oral cancer.
Digital radiography (digital x-ray) is the latest technology used to take dental x-rays. This technique uses an electronic sensor (instead of x-ray film) that captures and stores the digital image on a computer. Let me start off by saying I have mainecare (witch is free to low income) they younger lady that handles this (seems) Incompetent, lazy and just doesn’t want to be bothered I went in as a first time customer and was told I would have to pay for my first exam. Called mainecare they said no it was covered . And gave me a number she could call , like so many her age she knows better then me and would call her own person.
