Mid-America Martial Arts
Practitioners, competitive athletes, and fitness enthusiasts all have a home and a coach at MAMA. Youth and Adult Martial Arts focusing on developing the whole person through multiple programs: brazilian jiu jitsu, muay thai kickboxing, judo, filipino weapons, self-defense, fitness, and nutrition. How much lifting should I do?

Not an uncommon question I get from students, especially those that are "more seasoned" like myself. I recently traveled with my team to Des Moines, Iowa in what has become an annual tradition competing in the Muay Thai World Expo or as we call it "Nationals."
Services
Muay Thai is known as "King of the Ring" in kickboxing circles and the "Art of Eight Limbs" in reference to its use of punches, kicks, elbows, and knees. Training develops devastating power, speed and superb cardiovascular endurance as well as fighting spirit. Muay Thai training has been embraced by practitioners of a variety of self-defense, sporting, military and law enforcement activities.
If the answer is YES, then TFW is for YOU! Our sessions offer an eclectic approach to programming that is scalable and tailored to your needs while offering opportunity to total health, fitness, and well being. MAMA is proud to offer the Training for Warriors complete fitness system developed by world renowned strength and conditioning coach Martin Rooney.
Pair up with one of our certified instructors for a private session focusing exactly on the things you need and want. Sessions are tailored to your request to help you accomplish your goals. We all need a little help with exercise sometimes, whether we're just starting out or we've been at it for a long time and a personal trainer can do just that.
The martial arts can help develop both better bodies and better minds and may lead to a better, more peaceful society!. Benefits that last a lifetime! Our youth martial arts program draws on aspects of our adults programs to provide children with a well-rounded martial arts experience: brazilian jiu jitsu, kickboxing, weapons, and self-defense.
Jeet Kune Do is a hybrid martial arts system and life philosophy founded by martial artist Bruce Lee with direct, non classical and straightforward movements. Due to the way his style works they believe in minimal movement with maximum effect and extreme speed. The system works on the use of different 'tools' for different situations.

Exactly what we needed. My son is standing up straighter after a couple years of weight gain and low self esteem. He’s happier, hopeful, and nicer to his little sis:) He loves the coaches and Ashley the manager is a treasure. Everything has been a cinch thanks to her orchestration and excellent communication. I will be joining soon…even just dropping my kid off there makes me feel like Ronda:)

I've been here for a long time. Great family type of atmosphere, clean, and friendly. If you're thinking about starting to train, do it! It can be a bit intimidating for folks, but you'll be fine and fit in.

I drive past 2 other Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu gyms to get to this one daily. The reasons are Mid-America Martial Arts is ran by not only exceptionally talented martial artists but there aren't any egos here either. Despite being home to UFC fighter(s), the weekend warrior still feels welcome here. Regardless of your skill level, you will not only be challenged here but you will also be welcomed into the family.

The people at this gym are great. I've worked with 3 or 4 different teachers already, and they all want to make sure that the students are actually "getting it." None of the teachers have any problem working one-on-one with a student to make sure he or she is getting the movement down.
In addition to the teachers, the other students are very helpful as well. The idea of iron sharpening iron is very prevalent here. If you're working with a class mate and he notices an improvement, he'll help you out, and not in a "I know more than you do" way, but as a way of making you better.
So far, my class
