Craig Lau joined the management team in 2003 as a Vice President, and today is Acme Roofing Company's owner and president. The firm operates out of a modern facility in San Francisco designed specifically to house and protect sensitive roofing products, such as roofing felts, from moisture and damage.

Services
Acme Roofing Co. provides a variety of roofing types, including composition shingle, modified bitumen, built-up asphalt, ridged roofing, single-ply thermoplastic membranes, slate, terra-cotta, metal or a combination of materials. Fluid-applied systems consist of installing a liquid urethane in multiple coatings over a newly installed ACX plywood base, resulting in a non-skid, colored, waterproof and durable walking surface.
A roof comprises two or more layers of materials and is never premade or premanufactured. Rather, each roofing layer is painstakingly laid by hand in a series of detailed, technical steps. These layers must accommodate the contours of the roof and the environment around the structure. A successful installation begins and ends with the services of a professional roofing contractor.

Fluid-applied systems consist of installing a liquid urethane in multiple coatings over a newly installed ACX plywood base, resulting in a non-skid, colored, waterproof and durable walking surface. PVC membrane systems are installed over an ACX plywood base. This 60 mil thick skid resistant waterproofing system is made from a composite layer of durable reinforced PVC membrane.
All roofs require regular inspection and periodic maintenance to achieve a long-term service life and minimize the chance of leakage problems in the future. Owners should not allow a nuisance leak to persist and develop into a major problem, degrading insulation and causing mold or dry rot and damaging the roof assembly.

I am a happy customer of ACME Roofing. The whole discussion was seamless thanks to the COVID. Most of the communications were done through emails and phones. They gave me a good price and the additional work to fixed up rotten wood were also reasonable. There has been no surprises. The roof was beautifully done and I also has a roof vent which was suggested by them. I was there everyday to see the work while it was in progress and even though I was not an expert I saw that they were doing the job right. I had a leaking light-well that probably had not been addressed since the house was built 100 years ago. These guys completely gutted the space down to the wood, upgraded the drain, and reinstalled modern roofing materials. They even put asphalt shingles up the sides behind the siding to insure waterproofing. They arranged plumber and all details.
Can I call a roof install sexy?
Hard working, very professional and friendly crew who work clean. I have no doubt it will not leak again in 30 years.

Acme's team was excellent for my husband and I a few years ago. The Owner David personally walked us through roof top analysis and cost breakdown. Work done fastidiously, clean up, even 2 free return re-inspections and checked & fixed after my neighbors roofer did some damage. Support union companies!

I have used Acme Roofing since I bought my house in 2002. Had dealt with 4 roofers at Acme and all but one man (first name begins with a C) were superb: customer service was good, response time was prompt, all my concerns put at ease, worked efficiently, cleaned up after work was completed, listed the recommended work and they were done. I asked for photos before and after, and my request was granted. The most recent roofer, David Dissmeyer, is a pleasure to work with. So here I am on a rainy day, cozy in my dry home, looking up at my skylights and thinking warm thoughts of the roofing company that has been taking care of both of my roofs for 30 years. Well, a review for Acme is way overdue.
They have detected leaks, done small maintenance jobs, nicely negotiated a joint gutter with neighbors and when needed did 2 complete re-roofing jobs. Talked to a nice gentleman who asked me 50 questions about who else had given me estimates and how much they were and then told me that they weren't interested. I asked for advice on would be good and could be interested and he gave me none. Very asymmetric information flow. Not an overall great experience.

Acme scheduled roof inspection is what really sold me. They came back to make sure the roof was still in the right condition as it should be. Also they took the time to explain the benefits of having the new roof put in verses just telling me that its NEEDED! Overall its was great working with Acme Roofing.
