Our Activities Program is full of fun, informative, and entertaining events for everyone. The Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines is a modern, state-of-the-art care center, located along the Des Moines River at 701 Riverview Street, in the Capitol Park neighborhood of Des Moines. We are next to Iowa Lutheran Hospital, and only a short driving distance to Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Mercy Medical Center-Des Moines, and the VA Central Iowa Health Care System.

Remember to not just read the reviews but visit the place before you send your loved one there. Some staff are excellent but they could use more of them. The place could use some TLC which would benefit those needing care. Paint and lighting as well as new dining room furniture would go along way. The rehab room is lovely but the rest of the place needs help. Thankful it was only for a short time we were there.

I learned so many things working at this facility, I was given opportunities to grow and learn that I would not have received anywhere else. I made lifetime friends and I can honestly say it was the hardest job to leave but as it goes in life I hadd to better myself, I owe my current success to RCD ànd how they prepared me for my new challenges.

This is a great place to work. Staff and residents treat eachother like family, they are positive and i am always greeted with smiles and hellos. management takes the time to listen to any concerns or opinions and they are quick to find a solution and they also let the staff know how much they are appreciated on a regular basis.

Great new management with leaders who really care and strive to be the best for their residents. Staff is very friendly and caring and make you feel like family. Great rehab department that helps to get residents on their feet and is very effective in meeting goals. Very helpful in making arrangements before going home when you are there for rehabilitation.

This place was horrible. This is my personal experience with this facility. I was supposed to be in skilled nursing but I was on my own. Patient can hit the button which they tell you to hit for assistance but the staff act like you never hit it. I was told by a person in charge they have 15 minutes to respond but what if you don't have 15 minutes it can be life or death. I needed an asthma treatment I pushed the button I laid there until I got the strength to go to nursing station I explained to them it's been 6 minutes since I needed assistance but the nurse looked behind her on the board and

My grandmother was here for therapy and loved it! She did physical therapy and raved about the speech therapist- I think Jenna was her name. Her room was on one of the top floors and was a private room. Her nurse was always the same, and was great at talking to my grandmother through some of her anxiety. All the staff were very friendly and helpful- I had the pleasure of meeting the administrator, some of the nurses, and cnas while I visited from out a town. Would recommend this place to others for everything they did for my grandmother.

The changes at the Rehab Center of Des Moines this year have been amazing. The staff here are so friendly and always willing to help. And the management team is very responsive and quick to address any concerns you might have. The best part is their Rehab gym, it is large and beautiful, occupying most of the entry level. this facility is truly well adapt to provide excellent therapy and nursing services.
