Services
Chef Sam Liew came to the United States from Thailand in 1988. His first job was at Redding's Sakura Sushi on East Street. It was there that Sam began to learn about what is involved in running a successful restaurant; how important the quality of the food is and good customer service. Chef Sam's interest in excellent Japanese food was now set in motion!
Kampai Sushi's expertise goes beyond making delicious Japanese food! Sam has taken his cooking skills to the next level with his fabulous 'Edible Art', transforming food into magazine worthy pictures. The latest in 'foodies' favorites are Asian Fusion Rolls, and Specialty Gourmet Fusion Rolls.

These hand made rolls often are made with cooked ingredients, such as chicken or deep friend tempura wrapped with avocado, cream cheese, and other tempting flavors.Raw fish is also a common ingredient in Gourmet Hand Rolls. The house favorites are many. For those who want a spicy meal, the Monkey Roll is their choice.

I loved the food, & they were fast!
I had clinicals for my nursing program, and needed something nearby to make it through the day. I got lucky they were nearby where I was scheduled to be at. I live about an 1 1/2 away from Redding.
Great customer service! 🙌🏼Family business, hard working people. ❤️
The owner was so sweet too.
They also have a bigger room with a TV, for big events.
I ordered the Dragon Roll and Chicken Udon Noodles. It was tasty and filling. 😋
Love this little place. Great find. 💃🏻😊

I put in a to go order last night, after reading the reviews, it seemed like a great place for sushi! Being told 30 mins, and the order would be ready for pick up. After arriving, I sat at the counter bar. As I was sitting there for only about 2 mins, I was greeted by a few roaches!! 🤢🤢🤢 One was walking around like it had been so comfortable living there for some amount of time, not scared of me or my phone, trying to snap a picture of it. Feeling completely grossed out, a few mins later, I saw another one walking past me as well!! After literally an HOUR AND HALF, of STILL waiting for

The wait time could be better but working In a kitchen and cooking myself (not sushi) I can tell you that it's well worth the wait. I usually go in with a friend and get 2 chef speciality rolls each. Typically takes 15-25 minutes for what we get, which is not bad. Staff is friendly. good atmosphere & lots of space. Doesnt feel crammed like other sushi restaurants. Lots on the menu, and the best part is that there are pictures of the sushi on the menu which gives you a look into what you're getting. I end up finding myself coming back twice, maybe three times a month. Definatly my top spot as far
