An Appraisal & a Professional Home Inspection are both completely different evaluations of the property. The appraiser establishes an estimated 'market value' of the property; comparing it to similar homes within the listing neighborhood. While a Real Estate Inspector evaluates the actual physical condition of the structure and all of the related components of the house that you are buying.

Murphy with Discovery Real Estate Inspection is highly professional and meticulous with his work. We recently used his service for an investment property and were extremely impressed with the level of details and attentions Murphy put in his work. He really took time to walk us through and explain every deficiency of the property which made it easy for us to focus on the important things during negotiation. Murphy was recommended to me by my father who used Murphy for two inspections during his house buying experience.
Murphy is very good at what he does. He warns you that you’ll learn more about your property than you want to, and you do. The walkthrough of my property took just under an hour as there weren’t many red flags, yay! Murphy was very thorough in his explanation on the spot, and his report is even more thorough.
He’s also very friendly and funny.
I would happily refer him to anyone, and my realtor has now added Discovery to his list of inspection companies to refer to clients

Nice guy. He just inspected a home we put an offer on. He either didn't know how to use or stated he wasn't allowed to use many appliances, water heater, touchless faucet, driveway gate, jacuzzi, gas lantern. be careful. Based on the effort he showed he's probably not going to catch everything wrong with the house. you get what you pay for.

I had my home inspected by Murphy a little over a month ago, and I was very satisfied with his work. Murphy met me at the home, explained to me his findings and had my report ready by the following morning. I don't think I could've found a better inspector, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone in need of an inspection.

Murphy is an excellent home inspector and easy to work with. Throughout the years, I've had him inspecting all 3 of my houses. Everytime, he showed me all the things he found, regardlass how minor or major they were. His reports were also very detailed. I was able to get the seller to fix them before committing to buying the house, thanks to his excellent work. If you truly want to know what you are buying, better get Murphy!
